| xvthreetwoonevx01-29-06, 01:28 AM | I've recently made a character for a new game i've joined, a Kobold Scout. He's primarily an archer, seeing as the STR penalty Kobolds get is...less than savory for a melee character. I was wondering if there were any half-decent scout archery builds that you guys've come up with? I'm pretty set in using the class, i'm thinking a dip in incarnate for the Sighting Gloves soulmeld is probably in order, but other than that I don't see too many options for a scout. Would taking 7 levels of Elocater for the extra 5-ft. step ability be worth it, or is that too much skirmish to sacrifice to still be worth it? Feat, prestige class, and item suggestions are all appreciated. I'm level 1 right now, but a 20-level build would be excellent, so I know which things to take when I come to an appropriate level. Any non-core books have to go through DM approval, so nothing blindingly cheesy, but I can get my hands on most any 3.5 book, and he may or may not allow some 3.0 material. Thanks. |

Get a a bow with each of the elemental damage types on it and you're looking at whatever your bow damage is +9d6 per arrow. I'd also recommend tactile trapsmith or something that makes disable device a class skill, as it is not a class skill for scouts, despite them having trap finding. I'm sure someone will be in with a more optimized version, but pure scout is a nice choice. Greater manyshot is in the expanded psionics book btw, though it is not a psionic feat. |

Manyshot + Greater Manyshot is a wonderful suggestion -- use both. (8th level Scout bonus feat = Manyshot, 9th level general feat = Greater version.) -- N |
