| FnordBear08-15-06, 09:02 AM | Ok I rarely would do this but I am a bit stumped. I need to put together a level 9 chaotic good kobold sorceror/wild mage. With these as the initial stat rolls before modifiers. 18, 16, 14, 13, 11, 9 The concept is to give him a rod of wonder and a penchant for firespells. The game is 100% RAW no unearthed arcana material. Anything from PHB 1 and 2, Spell Compendium, the "Complete" books and Eberron is fair game. Anyone have any advice for making the most of a lil pyro wildmage kobold? |

Other spells like grease, expeditious retreat, etc. are also good). This also increases your Sorcerer Level as if you had advanced in the class (CL +1 is always nice) 3) Take the feat that increases your SLA to 3/day. 4) If you can play Evil, take the Kobold Domain through Arcane Disciple Feat. It has some interesting spells and you gain Trapfinding. You can be a passable rogue. 5) My personal stat distribution would be: Str:5 (9-4) Dex:15 (13+2) Con:9 (11-2) Int:16 Wis:14 (To cast Domain spells) Cha:18. If you do not do the Arcane Disciple, put the 9 into Wisdom and 11 into Str and 14 into Con. It depends a lot on how you want to play. I like to have some skills (especially if you take the Arcane Disciple). If you don't, there isn't a need for more skills than a 12 Int would give really (Concentration, Spellcraft, Knowledge Arcana). Nothing mentioned above really is categorized as "optimization" but just some ideas. Harliquinn |

For a feat lineup I am thinking: Magical Aptitude, Weapon Focus (Ranged Spell) Ranged Spell Specialization, and Improved Familiar (Small Fire elemental) That gives me wildmage prereqs, a little extra punch with ranged spells, and a sentient campfire for flavor. |
| igotsmeakabob!!08-15-06, 02:31 PM | If it hasn't been mentioned, take the PHB2's Sorcerer alternate class feature... get rid of that useless familiar and make metamagic more useful for sorcerers. |

Actually you still need a metamagic feat to qualify for Wildmage. I'd dump the Focus & Specialization, pick up whatever metamagic feat you'd like and get Point Blank Shot so that you can start picking up other ranged combat feats since that seems like the way you're going with the build. |

Arcane Disciple merely gives you (limited) access to the domain spells; it does not give you the domain power. |
| Harliquinn08-16-06, 08:27 AM | Arcane Disciple merely gives you (limited) access to the domain spells; it does not give you the domain power. Bah! You are correct. Thanks for clearing that up. Okay it's not quite as useful then...:( |
| FnordBear08-16-06, 11:04 AM | Doh I forgot about the metamagic preq. Oh well, I guess I will drop the focus and specilization and god with some of the sudden metamagics |
