| Friss_Kervrask02-04-06, 04:14 PM | I want you all to post here about what you figure out to be the ULTIMATE KOBOLD WARRIOR...You have to do a kobold warrior of 35th level (not only fighter but at least high BaB classes) . I will judge the results and the winner will aquire the rank : KOBOLD EXPERT. I want a fearsome kobold. The kind of warrior that even most powerful barbarians will fear. I want it 3.5 d&d version and use the 28 points buy system. Good Luck! You will need it! |
| LordofProcrastination02-04-06, 04:19 PM | Somehow, this looks more like a not-so-subtle attempt to have the CO Boards produce a particular character for you than a challenge. Challenges that get entrants are usually those which include criteria for success, books allowed, particular competition-rules, and some vague effort to make the qualification for victory something other than personal whim. |
| Taeldrin Laesrash02-04-06, 05:06 PM | You know, if you want a character, just ask. That said... Kobold Barbarian 8/ Fighter 2/ Frenzied Berserker 10/ Cleric 15 (For great buffs and Divine Power) You've got to take the cleric levels once you're Epic, otherwise, no BAB of +20 for you. Specialize in Power Attacking and Leap Attacking. |
| PhaedrusXY02-04-06, 05:29 PM | Fighter5Yeah, that 5th level of fighter is a "Must-Have"... :chicken: |
| Taeldrin Laesrash02-04-06, 08:14 PM | Fine, fine...I'll edit the build. |
| LordofProcrastination02-04-06, 10:05 PM | Kobold Barbarian 6/ Fighter 4/ Frenzied Berserker 10/ Cleric 15 Isn't Fighter 4 considered to be in the top five most worthless levels to stop at in the game? |
| Tleilaxu_Ghola02-04-06, 11:12 PM | Isn't Fighter 4 considered to be in the top five most worthless levels to stop at in the game? Well, if you want specialization it isn't. Sure you could go for pious templar, but that doesn't give specialization in ANY weapon. In a build that uses damage multipliers weapons specialization is nice. Of course this build doesn't seem to use damage multipliers... |
| Friss_Kervrask02-04-06, 11:54 PM | Yes it's a character that I want to make, but isn't funnier in a little challenge form? :D I know that the Frenzied Berzerker is a must in that case because of the astronomic power it possede. The small size of the kobold penalies him for weapons damage, Frenzied Berzerker rebalance itwith overwhleming strengh. Continue to send your kobolds exemple. The challenge continue! |
| fnord02-05-06, 12:00 AM | Isn't Fighter 4 considered to be in the top five most worthless levels to stop at in the game? No. Fighter 3, 5, 7, etc, more than fill in the top 5. |
| AramilWindwalker02-05-06, 12:21 AM | kobold barb6/frenzied berzerker10/bear warrior6/warshaper3/sorc1/dragon disciple10 stats.... umm at this point how important are your base stats really? str 14 dex 14 con 12 int 8 wis12 cha 8 final stats(while raging) str 14+5 level+10frenzy+12(?)rage+2reckless rage+8dragon disciple+4warshaper+5 inherent=60 without items dex 14+2 rage+5tome=21 without items con 12+12(?)rage+4warshaper+2dragon disciple+5 tome+1 level+2 reckless rage=38 without items int 8+2 dragon disciple=10 wis 12=12 cha8+2 level+2 dragon disciple=12 useful feats snow tiger berzerker allows full attack o charge using light weapons, natural weapons are light, from unapproachable east power/leap attack for charging gooness shock trooper and the requisite feats, allows you to still be able to hit when you toss your full bab to power attack reckless rage adds +2 to str and con while raging destructive and intimidating rage for frenzied berzerker any other prerequisite feats any more questions, let me know frenzied berzerker, bear warrior, and warshaper are all in complete warrior, dragon disciple is in the DMG have fun with your whirling kobold-ball of death. |
| PhoenixInferno02-05-06, 12:25 AM | Yes it's a character that I want to make, but isn't funnier in a little challenge form? :D No. First of all, as LoP said, this isn't a real challenge because it has no victory conditions. Secondly, this is just you being lazy - AND WHY IN GOD'S NAME ARE WE REWARDING LAZINESS?!?!?! |
| Friss_Kervrask02-05-06, 01:07 AM | Cool down a little bit man, I just wanted to make this thread funny! My character is already made. I just wanted to see if I made him well. And you guys gave me precious ideas and thanks for all. |
| Taeldrin Laesrash02-05-06, 09:55 AM | Can we see the character that you made? I'm sure that we can greatly expand on it. But remember, don't have odd Fighter levels. I've been reprimanded twice in one thread on that. |
| Friss_Kervrask02-05-06, 10:51 AM | You want to see my character, ok then. Here's the basics of my character : (I'm french so my english is not very well) Barbarian 6/Fighter 4 (with substitution levels, see ''Races of Dragon'')/Frenzied berzerker 10/Spirit Shaman 15 (we start a level 35 quest so I don't care cross-classing) (all stats don't include my items and my Rage/Frenzy bonuses, so I have quite more then that) Str : 18 - 4 racial + 4 characters level + 2 racial fighter substitution + 5 book of strengh + 1 epic feat + 2 wish = 20 Dex : 10 + 2 racial + 4 book of dexterity = 16 Con : 12 - 2 racial +2 characters level + 2 racial fighter substitution + 5 book of constitution + 1 wish = 20 Int : 8 Wis : 12 + 2 characters level + 5 book of wisdom + 1 wish = 20 Cha : 10 + 4 book of charisma = 14 Weapon : Great Club. I chose this one because it's a wooden weapon and I use the Spikes spell who add 20 damage per attacks for up to 15 rounds. I don't have the courage to explain ALL my character so if you want other informations, just ask me. |
| Taeldrin Laesrash02-05-06, 12:10 PM | Granted, I don't know the benefits of the Spirit Shaman, so I won't comment on that. However, your ability scores have a typo. The bonuses from Wish and the stat-inceasing books don't stack, as they are both inherent bonuses. Also, you might as well wield a spear, as the substitution levels give a bonus to attack with them. And don't forget enhancement items like the Belt of Giant Strength. |
| Caelic02-05-06, 12:58 PM | No Tribal Protector? I'd go with at least a two level dip for Wild Fighting. |
| Friss_Kervrask02-05-06, 01:04 PM | I know for the items, I writed ''This not include my items'' just above my stats. For the spear, I'm not using it because it's much more powerful with a wooden weapon (see the ''Spikes'' spell in Complete Divine). For the books and wish I didn't knew that, thanks. For the spirit shaman it grants me powerful bonuses against elementals, incorporeal undeads, feys and such creatures. It grants the power to find them and attack the incorporeals naturally. It have sorcerer-like use of druidic spells. And for Tribal protector, I actually didn't knew that exist. :D |
| Friss_Kervrask02-05-06, 04:20 PM | Can you tell me a little bit more about the tribal protector, maybe I will put some levels in that. |
| AramilWindwalker02-05-06, 04:32 PM | so.. when do you decide who the kobold expert is? although i usually do better with goblinoids, I wouldn;'t mind a little koboldian pretige |
| Lyinginbedmon02-05-06, 04:38 PM | Cool down a little bit man, I just wanted to make this thread funny! My character is already made. I just wanted to see if I made him well. And you guys gave me precious ideas and thanks for all. Am I the only one finding it funny that you just asked a guy called PheonixInferno to cool down? :D Little insight while I'm here, maybe KhanTheDestroyer should qualify as the 'kobold expert'? |
| Taeldrin Laesrash02-05-06, 05:26 PM | Please don't start with Khan. While he is the ultimate master of kobolds, the build that garnered him that title cannot be played. Ever. |
| Friss_Kervrask02-05-06, 06:04 PM | Am I the only one finding it funny that you just asked a guy called PheonixInferno to cool down? :D Little insight while I'm here, maybe KhanTheDestroyer should qualify as the 'kobold expert'? Heil to the Kobold Expert, AramilWindwalker, for his beautyful kobold's exemple and his way to boost STR to 60 without any items. And a special gift for Lyinginbedmon. Because you're agree with me! :D You're the Kobold Assistant! |
| AramilWindwalker02-05-06, 06:14 PM | although one couild technically say it's only 55 without items... it is that the other +5 is inherent, but that could come from wishes, so I guess it counts! All Hail the Kobold expert! note also i can get a goblin's str up to 50 by level 20, using items though. *adds to his sig.* |
| Khan the Destroyer02-05-06, 08:28 PM | Here is my take, since the Frenzied Berserker route was already taken. Rogue 7/Stone-Blessed 3/Blade Bravo 10/Wizard 5/Arcane Trickster 4/Rogue +6 1. Rogue 1 (Weapon Finesse) 2. Rogue 2 3. Rogue 3 (Weapon Focus: Rapier) 4. Rogue 4 5. Rogue 5 6. Rogue 6 (Combat Expertise) 7. Rogue 7 8. Stone-Blessed: Gnome 1 9. Stone-Blessed: Gnome 2 (Combat Reflexes) 10. Stone-Blessed: Gnome 3 11. Blade Bravo 1 12. Blade Bravo 2 (Dodge) 13. Blade Bravo 3 14. Blade Bravo 4 15. Blade Bravo 5 (Karmic Strike) 16. Blade Bravo 6 17. Blade Bravo 7 18. Blade Bravo 8 (Two-Weapon Fighting) 19. Blade Bravo 9 20. Blade Bravo 10 21. Wizard 1 (Mobility, Double Hit) 22. Wizard 2 23. Wizard 3 24. Wizard 4 (Craven) 25. Wizard 5 (Improved Combat Reflexes) 26. Rogue 8 27. Rogue 9 (Elusive Target) 28. Rogue 10 (Opportunist) 29. Rogue 11 30. Rogue 12 (Sneak Attack of Opportunity) 31. Rogue 13 (Crippling Strike) 32. Arcane Trickster 1 33. Arcane Trickster 2 (Lingering Damage) 34. Arcane Trickster 3 35. Arcane Trickster 4 Note, I am using the variant wizard in Unearthed Arcana that grants fighter bonus feats at 1st level and every 5 levels rather than wizard bonus feats. Book limitations weren't specified :). The kind of warrior that even most powerful barbarians will fear. I'm assuming this is the win-condition. Basically, this guy makes barbarians cry because he can completely negate their power attack damage with Elusive Target. If the barbarian hits him with his much weaker attack (though not weak in general), he gets two attacks of opprtunity on him thanks to Karmic Strike/Double-Hit. Because of Sneak Attack of Opportunity, both of these attacks are sneak attacks. His Sneak Attack is 13d6+35 (11d6 base, +2d6 Deadly Precision weapon, +35 Craven feat), as well as 2 points of Strength damage (Crippling Strike). Further, thanks to Lingering Damage, the enemy takes this damage again next round. And, thanks to Lethal Riposte, the kobold gets an attack of opportunity if the enemy swings and misses. So off of one attack of opportunity, which occurs if the kobold is hit or if the enemy misses, the kobold gets two attacks, and damage of 13d6+35. If both attacks hit, that is 4 strength damage, plus 26d6+70 (average 161 damage). And then, he takes it again next round, for a total of 322 damage. And the kobold hasn't even had his turn yet to attack. With Combat Reflexes, the kobold has no limit on attacks of opportunities and can hit the attacker twice every time he is hit in melee. Arcane Trickster is there to open up Wraith Strike. I was initially going to use it to polymorph into a Kelvezu, but I didn't know how to fit becoming an Outsider into the build. Kelvezu would add another 8d6 Sneak Attack damage. I know its conditional damage, and this guy doesn't have a lot of HP, but, it is strong in its own way, and its different. Hope you enjoy. Books needed would be Complete Warrior, Races of Stone, Champions of Ruin, PHB, DMG, Epic Level Handbook, Unearthed Arcana. No. First of all, as LoP said, this isn't a real challenge because it has no victory conditions. Secondly, this is just you being lazy - AND WHY IN GOD'S NAME ARE WE REWARDING LAZINESS?!?!?! This isn't your forum. CO Regular or not, you don't have the right to violate CoC and be absolutely rude to someone. Please don't embarrass youself or the rest of us by posting garbage like this again. Everyone has a right to post here without worrying about being attacked by elitist jerks.
