Razorblade Smile 09-12-04, 07:44 PM	My wife is putting together a Dweomerkeeper character character for a soon-to-be epic campaign and she prodded me repeatedly with a big stick to post this message on her behalf. She's looking for suggestions on what would Build: Human Cleric 4/Enchantress 1/Divine Disciple 5/Dweomerkeeper 10. Emphasis is already placed entirely on her Cleric spellcasting progression, and her deity is a homebrewed one of Magic, Mystery, and Seduction. What can I say, she's still relatively new and needs to get these types of characters out of her system. (Okay, that's going to leave a bruise...) Available Sourcebooks: Core 3.5, Planar Handbook, Miniature's Handbook, Draconomicon, Complete Warrior, Complete Divine, Races of Stone, and the entire (updated for 3.5 where available) Forgotten Realms series. Rules in newer sourcebooks dominate older ones. Domains: Domination, Magic, and Trickery. Special Considerations: Supernatural Spell does not get around XP requirements, so any spell that requires that is right out. She also wants to focus on her domain spells here since they're the ones she has a limited use of each day as opposed to those available as a cleric. Here's the rough outline she's put together so far with my help. Mantle of Spells 1 (6th or lower): Heal Mantle of Spells 2 (7th or lower): Greater Dispel Magic Mantle of Spells 3 (8th or lower): Polymorph Any Object Mantle of Spells 4 (9th or lower): True Domination Mantle of Spells 5 (9th or lower): Time Stop Any constructive advice is greatly appreciated.

Funny Slaughter 09-13-04, 05:59 AM	first of all there is a feat called magical training in the PGtF, it allows a Dweomerkeeper-build to spare the wizard-level and gives full spell-progression, nothing better then this. while the first two selections for the mantle are quite good (never be without an heal or dispel = awesome) i would not recommend the other spells. a short explaination: mantle of spells allows you to convert another learned spell into the mantle-spell. therefor you have two uses: first: spells you need eventually but dont want to burn slots on, the tow above are very good examples. second: domain-spells you can access only 1/day otherwise a mixture of 1 and 2 would be identify, if you dont have a wizboy in your group its a valid choice PAO is the second, if you think that you really need it more then 1/day you can take it, due to the long duration and the limited use as a combat-spell (too expensive) i dont think its such a wise choice. i would take a look for the initiate of mystra feat, also PGtF, as there are three very good spells aquired with this one as well as a very powerful ability (cast in antimagic fields etc), see the CO-3.5-build-FAQ for an example. (greater) anyspell is great, holy star is without question one of the best spells in the whole game. have fun playing the cheater of mystra. but be aware of the fact that the rest of the party needs muuuuch optimization-work to get even close to this, while using the "i cast in an antimagic field"-trick there is not much able to stop this one... gs Funny
Mucknuggle 09-13-04, 06:16 AM	I would take Greater Restoration as one of your mantle spells. You never know when you'll need it and it's a pain to always have it memorized. For lesser restoration, just stock up on the cheap scrolls. I also think that True Resurrection would be a decent choice for a mantle spell. Again, you never know when you'll need one.
Fugazi 09-13-04, 08:22 AM	Uber cheese incoming : In the Kingdoms of Kalamar's PHbook is a feat called irresistable spell - it requires two other feats also in the book but it makes a spell... have no save. The spell is 4lvl's higher. Add Divine Metamagic and True Dominate with the DwK's Super Natural spell ability. No save, no sr, permanently dominated. do not let your wife know this uber-cheese, I presented this to my group.. guess what they complained about? My char's stats :) everything else was fine. Sigh, already retiring the char. Irresistable Hold Person - SPOONING YOUR EYEBALLS OUT.
