A neat trick for brain supply [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-02-06, 07:38 AM Alright, I wouldn't be surprised if someone figured this out already, but here goes...

Illithid savants give really really huge benefits from eating brains, it's too nice to pass up, really. However, there's one problem: where do you get brains? Well, there are two options for this, both equally fun.

1: use improved invisibility and walk up to the creature of your choice before taking a scale/hair/whatever from it and going away. Then, clone it(the spell) wait, and eat the cloned brain. This could even be used as a way for people to help give you power without killing themselves (loyal followers, party members, hell, I even disguised it as a "health test" of sorts and took hair samples from a whole city while in disguise, fun fun fun......)

2: since illithids are good at psionics anyway, go psion(telepath) or something and then (more importantly) into thrallherd. Now every time you spot a thrall/believer with a nice ability, you say "hey you there with the spiffy brain, yes you, step up, won't you? *slurp,drip,brain* Whew, thanks!*thud*" free abilities! Thralls are, after all, easily replaced.

11-02-06, 04:53 PM This may sound cruel, but wouldn't a herd of pixies be optimal? No where do I remember seeing that the size of the brain mattered, so a bunch of very tiny intelligent creatures would be most efficient.
