| slapperpaasofaen11-09-05, 02:42 PM | Hello dear d&d gurus. I am currently in this certain d&d campaign, run by a friend of mine who has from the very beginning of the campaign - which has now run for about a year - agreed to all players doing any amounts of begging/serving the gm in.. quite pathethic ways(ordering and paying for pizza.. that sort of stuff = +2000xp), making pacts with demons, munchkining their way to superiority, while maintaining a quite enjoyable game. So everyone in the game is much, much more powerful than they should be. But now, in the later days where we are striving for divinity, i am stunted. Always before i was able to steal others sheets to learn about min/maxing but now apparently i cant keep doing it.. (they caught me..) Since theres this unofficial rule that you can do whatever you want, exept cheating outright, unless you get discovered. As i am a new player to roleplaying in general, and i never really played a fighter before, (that is, using tactics, and min/maxing him/her) I need help. Alot. Since everyone else in the game can kill lesser gods, withouth divine ranks. If you would be so kind as to help me out of my dilemma, i would be most grateful. I have 10 levels to work with here, the other 6 where spent on this race here (which i made myself, first time i ever tried, so he should be owerpowered) I am not even that familliar with the rules, so please let me excuse for anything stupid now. Also, english is my second language, so it might not be that good. Some of the other players have saves of + 40-50total, ac bonuses of 72, stats/abilities of at least 30-50 in each, i hope this will convey to you how hard this make my life. For my race i will recieve: HP: 6d12 + something undecided... As i said we can do just about anything as long as our gm says it okay. Speed: 40ft land speed/60ft fly speed AC: + 37 Natural armor at total character level 15. Inability to wear armor. I recieve no penalty should i grow larger. BAB: 22. Special Qualities: Immunity to Fire, All Resistances 20, Inability to wear Armor, Improved Natural Armor, Consume Memories/Mind*, Devour Body and Soul*, Gate 1/week cost 1 con (temporary), Fire Form*, Expend Energy*, Feasting Rage*, Multiple Limbs (+2 arms), Imbue Inanimate Objects*. Saves: Fortitude + 23, Reflex + 16, Will + 19 Abilities: + 14 STR, - 6 DEX, CON + 8, INT + 6. Skills: Not important. Feats: Cleave, Great Cleave, Power Attack, Weapon Focus (Players Choice), Greater Weapon Focus (Players Choice), Improved Trip. Cost: 6 Levels. My rolls gave me: 18 Str 16 Dex 16 Con 14 int 14 wis 15 charisma Pretty good rolls. Consider my race a class - So my character level is 16, with all bonuses. Like feats. Also i have Divine Rank 0, which should give me the following: 35/+4 dmg reduction, All hit dice maximised, My speed is doubled (dm says), My Charisma gives me a + to my deflection ac - according to the Charisma Modifier, Immunity to Transmutation, Energy Drain, Ability Drain, Ability Damage, Mind-Affecting Effects, Spell Resistance 32, Immortality, 3 Domains, And + 8 to my abilities, which i may distribute as i choose (Str, Con.. and so forth), as granted by the dm. *Consume Memories/Mind: When I eat another being, i gain acces to its memories, knowledge, and recent ideas, plans and thoughts. *Devour Body and Soul: Grants me ability bonuses when i eat a creature my own size. *Imbue Inanimate Objects: I can imbue armor and weapons from +1-5, recieving a temporary penalty to con, str and int. *Fire Form: I can leave my flesh husk behind, gaining 20fast healing. this takes me about 3 rounds/18 secs. *Feasting Rage: I Can enter a rage, when hungry, attacking all creatures i concieve of as enemies endlessly, until i or all of them are dead and devoured. I myself concieve of what is my enemies. This grants me +4 str and con, each size from medium and up. Also, somehow, my strenght seemed to on my character sheet to add up to 50, based on bonuses i have forgotten. hehe. Even though i believe he seems very powerful, he is probably yet the weakest character ingame, unless i decide on the right course of action aka which classes/Prestige classes to pick to make him allmighty and strong. I have a hard time picking this course of action though, and i hope that you can, based on what youve read, guide me and help me munchkin my way with my skin intact. I Assume my character should be a fighter/Barbarian type of person, no? And so i ask thee, fellow roleplayers - What should i do? (10 levels to play with) |
| swanyusd11-09-05, 03:40 PM | ok, since you cant use armor, you need to find fighter classes which give you bonuses to being unarmored. these are swashbuckler, dualist, champion of corellon larethian(which seems silly because you are a demigod). Since your dm seems like such a great guy(ie allowing such crazy brokeness, sad that you are the "weakest"), he probably will allow the bonuses for these classes to be maxed immediately(ie you dont get the int to ac for level, but maxed starting right now.) So, sweet talk him a bit, and this is what you need. Swashbuckler 3/dualist 1/champion of corellon 2/monk1/blackguard 2/xotic wpn master 1(take uncanny blow) If you sweet talk him like i said this combo gets you the following bonuses Cha bonus to all saves Wisdom to AC Int to damage Dex to damage Int to AC Dex to hit(elven thinblade ) Double str damage (instead of 1.5) Since he seems like a nice guy, ask for wpn focus(elven thinblade) nad grtr wpn focus(elven thinblade) This is where you can find the material Swash(complete warrior) dualist(dmg 3.5) champion of corellon(races of the wild) blackguard(dmg3.5) monk(players) xotic wpn master(complete warrior) Just say your race is an offshoot of elves, and that you are the person who does things for the benefit of the elves and corellon, even though your methods are terribly evil. You technically have to be neutral or good to be champion of corellon, but i think you could sweet talk your dm(or just dont bother telling him, since he seems not to care). Does this help? |
| P33KAJ3W11-09-05, 05:54 PM | Since you DM does not seem to noitice, take 10 levels of ur-priest, meeting none of the prewrecks, then take epic spellcasting skipping the prerequs, tell them dvr 0 lets you or some hors shtuff like that then just start casting spells that make no sence. DM: You turn Steve Steve: I cast neverending dance of the garden gnomes DM:  Steve: 100 Thousands of garden gnomes drop from the sky.. on fire... while frozen... dealing HOLLLLLLLLY DAMAGE... falling damage per complete warrior is capped at 20d6, that's... 7,000,000 damage on average... Then they rise and begin to dance deali... DM: Dead dead your ALLLLLLL DEAD |
| slapperpaasofaen11-10-05, 03:03 AM | Swanyusd - Thanks alot, this really helped me get going. I might sweet talk him a bit, but since he apparently confuses my race with a demon this might not work, unless i get in game alliance ties with them. Ill try anyway though. Thanks again Cant seem to find the swashbuckler prestige class anywhere in the book though. |
| Sang-Drax11-10-05, 03:44 AM | Swashbuckler is a base class from CW. |
| CommanderFalken11-10-05, 08:43 AM | You want broken? I'll give you broken. Go out and get a certain book called Serpent's Kingdoms Take the Snakeblooded feat at first level, or otherwise turn yourself into a creature with the (reptilian) subtype. If you're not stuck with your homebrew race, play a kobold for added effect. Take 5 levels of wizard. Nothing more. You know what? Just click here. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=491801) I'm not even going to try to explain to you what happens now. Those familiar with the boards know and fear what I am talking about. |
| der_gogo11-10-05, 09:03 AM | I borrowed an idea from another thread: Take a level of bard and convince your GM that you can make happen everything that is in the lyrics of a song that exists in reality... :D "Can't touch me!" or how about "Princes of the Universe" you will find a lot of others that are nice... :D |
| slapperpaasofaen11-11-05, 07:13 AM | CommanderFalken - Allready read, might be just a bit over the top. Anyway i found out that ideas from swanyusd wont work, since i'm not an elf, the dm for some reasons wouldnt allow it. So if anyone could help me figuring out a build i would be eternally grateful. I also forgot that the dm plays with 3rd edition rules, or lets just say he mixes 3.5 and 3rd to his own pleasure, which would give me the ability to take all the new prestige classes, as well as getting the blackguard charisma bonus to all saves with just 1 level in blackguard. |
