Prereqs - Knowledges and Spellcraft 6 ranks Speak Language (Draconic) Any metamagic Wizardly casting (IE, prepare and cast 1st level arcane spells) AND, at 2nd level, you get to add ANY spell (even divine) to your spellbook...ANY spell. You get this ability FIVE times. The spell can even be of equal level to your highest level spell. OH, and WotC was nice enough to give it -3 CL so you can still get those coveted 9th level spells. Did I mention that it falls on even levels? So, at 10th level (say it's your 20th character level) you could add Miracle. This is so friggin' awesome IMHO. Just a thought. -=TD=- |
| ChristopherGroves09-22-06, 10:50 AM | Also sounds excellent for the Recaster ... instead of MotAO you can now go Wyrm Wizard. Spells all around! -3 caster progression loss? |
| Skadrian09-22-06, 11:05 AM | which would mean no recaster :( |
| WombleHunter09-22-06, 11:41 AM | You could always just take the 1st level as your 17th to get Miracle and ignore the rest. Do you get spellcasting at 1st level? |
| Wire09-22-06, 01:02 PM | Did I mention that it falls on even levels? So, at 10th level (say it's your 20th character level) you could add Miracle. This is so friggin' awesome IMHO.Perhaps. But it's even *more* friggin' awesome to have been casting & abusing Shapechange, Gate, and Time Stop 3 levels earlier. While I like the concept of this PrC, a -3 hit to CL is extremely ugly and not worth the cool "Extra Spell" class abilities you get in return. |
| Tweedledope09-26-06, 01:42 PM | After reading this further, correct me if I'm wrong but, it says that you add it to your spell list but, "all other aspects of the spell remain unchanged." Therefore, does this mean that it stays a Divine Spell? If so, this might find some abuse in other classes/feats. -=TD=- |
| Bill Bisco: Average Adventurer09-26-06, 01:50 PM | I have a feeling that it doesn't stay as Divine. I didn't think that they intended to mean that you wouldn't suffer Arcane Spell Failure, use your Wis Modifier for DC, ect. But I will admit that I do like and have used that Class for Optimization. It's great because the entry doesn't require any stupid feats and pretty much anyone can go into it. |
