A character concept I have been meaning to play is a CN (or possably CG if DM would allow) Necromancer. Was thinking of Necromancy specialist Wizard 5 /Cleric of a Death Domain 5 / Mistic Thurge 10. I know my CL will kinda suck but provided I have access to only a PHB and DMG atm, would this be decent power-wise?

I think you'd be better off with a straight Cleric or maybe a Wizard/Loremaster. You might look at the Necromancer variants from Unearthed Arcana, too, available online here:

You'll want to get 9th level spells in either your wizard or cleric spellcasting and the lost spell slots won't be as big of a deal since you'll have a bunch from your cleric levels
