| MisterMan01-22-06, 05:38 AM | Hello! Me and my pals are going to play a little game in a week, but we are going to be very few players. Actually only two players. We will be starting at level 5, and I was wondering if anybody has some nice ideas to create two characters that would compliment each other nicely. All the Completes are allowed, as is Races of the Dragons and of the Wilds. Also any information found as excerpts or such from WotC site, is allowed. The characters have to be powerfu at level 5, and of I believe we will reach something like leve 8. Thus no grand 20th levvel builds, please :D The stats available are: 18, 16, 16, 14, 10, 8. If you have any more question, just ask. |
| Anor01-22-06, 06:48 AM | Just play a druid and a cleric and you are all set. |
| Neeek01-22-06, 06:54 AM | Well, how about something simple, like either a druid or barbarian/fighter combo for heavy damage dealing, and a battle-field control specialist wizard? |
| X-Codes01-22-06, 08:33 AM | Just play a druid and a cleric and you are all set. It doesn't get simpler than this. |
| LordofLeapin01-22-06, 09:02 AM | Or more powerful. |
| juggernaughteagle01-22-06, 09:06 AM | pun-pun + anyone else |
| Xeraph01-22-06, 09:30 AM | Dwarven Cleric 5 Dwarven Barb 1/Fighter 4 thats a safe bet. (My first choice would be Warforged Artificer 5 and Warforged Barb 1/Fighter 4 though,) |
| Slyver01-22-06, 09:47 AM | Race: Human Druid 8 Str: 14 Dex: 8 Con: 16 Wis: 18 Int: 16 Cha: 10 Feats: 1) Power attack, Cleave 3) Combat Expertise 6) Natural spell Race: Human Druid 8 Str: 8 Dex: 10 Con: 14 Wis: 18 Int: 16 Cha: 16 Feats: 1) Spell focus conjuration, Augment summoning 3) Extend spell 6) Natural spell Druid number one with your two fleshraker animal companions are the tanks. He should be in wildshape pretty much all the time. Fleshraker or bear are best forms for lower levels. Druid number two is the battlefield control specialist/buffer/healer. Start each battle with a summon spell or two. Once he hits level six he can stay in eagle form out of the battle to cast spells. If needed in battle he will be a perfectly fine addition to combat in some other form. If you had access to other books, such as UA for LA buyoff and variant classes, or Eberron/Faerun books for feats, I could make some much better, similarly themed builds. Slyver |
| MisterMan01-22-06, 11:41 AM | Mmm..! That looks nice. There is just one problem, I can't seem to find the place where it says you can have a Fleshraker animal companion.. Could someone please pinpoint me? |
| Slyver01-22-06, 12:20 PM | It is in the MM3 at the top of page 41. It states explicitly that druids can choose a fleskraker as an animal companion with a -3 to effective druid level for determining bonus HD etc. Just like in the PHB for the second tier animal companions. Slyver |

Could someone please pinpoint me? One problem with the Fleshraker is that it's a dinosaur, meaning that most DM's probably will force you to go down to Jungle of Chult (FR) or some other djungle (in your campaign) in order to aquire one. This might prove to be a big obstacle in your campaign, just as it turned out in mine. But Wolfs are also nice combat animals, specially in pairs and backed up with a melee type. |

Slyver Damn! We don't have the MM3 in our group, only the MM. But nice ideas anyway! By the way, forgot to mention we also have Expanded Psionics Handbook, Song and Silence, Tome and Blood, Enemies and Allies and Defenders of Faith (In case there is something that has not been updated). How about a Ranger3/Barb2 or Ranger3/Fighter2 and either a Cleric or Druid? Or, as mentioned, the Cleric and Druid way. What should the characters in this combination focus on? Druid=Wildshape, and Cleric=Buffing/Healing? |
