A Psi-Archer...thoughts? [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-14-04, 02:21 PM I'm currently creating an archer for a 7th-level game using 36 point buy. Don't ask me, the DM's kinda nutty. I'm thinking of something like this.

Race: Elan
Why? Those extra power points are nice. Human is my second choice if it'll make the feat progression easier.

Str 14 (For extra damage)
Dex 19 (+1 point at 4th level)
Con 12 (Not great, but the Elan damage reduction will help with this)
Int 10 (I only need a few key skills)
Wis 14 (Wisdom is a Psychic Warrior's key ability modifier)
Cha 8 (-2 racial penalty)

Feat selection:
Ftr1 Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot
Ftr2 Rapid Shot
Ftr3 Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Greatbow)
Ftr4 Psionic Shot
PsiWar1 Psicrystal Affinity
Ftr5 Fell Shot
PsiWar2 Psicrystal Containment
(Planned feat for PsiWar3: Greater Psionic Shot)

Items: (7,200gp) +1 mighty composite (+2) deep crystal greatbow, +1 mithral chain shirt.

Open to further suggestions or changes.

200+ damage without crit

800+ damage with crit

You can use expansion + powershot + fell shot combo to really blast away the oposition with greater multishot and hunter's mercy. Also don't forget the +2 bow enchantment that pierces your targets...with hustle you can position yourself in such a way to take out at least 2 at a time.
