A question about the Infinite Variety Ability [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-16-06, 02:25 PM Today i browsed a few of my books, searching for good (Ex) abilities to use with the infinite variety ability of the Master Transmogrifist. I was looking in a Sword and Sorcery book, and saw that the Swallow Whole ability of one of the beasts there was an Extraordinary Ability. My question is, if the beast could swallow gargantuan monsters and cause 1d4 permanent constitution damage through this ability, would i be able to do the same even though i am playing as a human?

02-16-06, 04:41 PM According to the Tarrasque (http://d20srd.org/srd/monsters/tarrasque.htm) entry, you can seemingly only swallow creatures that are smaller than yourself. Logically, I would say you must be significantly bigger than the thing you attempt to swallow, but the RAW may differ.

02-17-06, 11:10 AM ah, ok. I thought it sounded a bit too good to work =D i just wanted to check. It might have been fun though:
DM "You enter the large cave and se a gargantuan red dragon."
Me "I walk up to it and say 'you look tasty'" *shlorp*

02-17-06, 06:08 PM I believe you have to be Polymorphed into something to use Infinite Variety anyway, so it's not like you'd be in human form unless your character is a different race, like an Aberration.
