Does the characters base type (say...Outsider or Construct?) have any effect on the available forms it's possible to assume, with Wildshape? I've heard someone state this was correct, but as always, it's best to check with the people who know the rules better than I, and no one knows'em better than the CO board.

If so, it'd greatly aid a build idea of mine. Can anyone please provide me some insight into this? ^_^

at first I was going to say yes as its based off of the polymorph spell which is based off of the alter self spell. unfortunalty the wildshape ability specifically limits the type of creature you can change into thus overriding the reference to polymorph.

Hmmm...Are you sure about this? If it's true, it does deny me a rather fun ability, but either way, it'll still be a more than playable build.

Any other opinions?

I've never read that, and it wouldn't really make any sense to me. A humanoid master of many forms can assume the type of other things non humanoid or animal... Where did you hear that?
