Now the story is there was some rivalry between antoher characters assassin and my mage, until it got real ugly when i dominated him cause he was always going on his own doing dark stuff (he was neutral evil, the rest of the party was me a L/N mage, L/N fighter, L/G vassal of bahamut, C/G sorcerer) and then released him. We are currently at a stalemate as i cannot find him and kill him and he cannot kill me cause of my magical fortress and contingencys (and foresight that is often activated too). Here are the builds Alastar Nahabalatem Wizard 7/Loremaster 10/Archmage 3 Karsak Rogue 5/assassin 10/ zentarim spy 5 (player's guide to faerun) Now this guy took every item and enchant it was possible to get to max his hide and put it on himself, he has greater shadow enchant on armor and a ring of chameleon power, +8 to dex and a maxed hide for a grand total of 56 to hide, plus he is often invisible. What i would like to know is how am i supposed to find him? Keep in mind that the various locate and detect spells don't tell you where someone is if he is hidden, i can easily one shot kill him if i can see him, i have maxed spot as a cross class skill giving me +11 +2 with wisdom, +2 with alertness, +5 with eyes of the eagle for a grand total of +20. What else can i do.... I leave it upon you, i don't want a build, just a way. |

Then as the summoned creature got close to me, he whipped out a wand of Glitterdust and started blanketing the area. One lucky hit and the -40 made it a bit easier for him to see me. Also, I'm not sure if this is "Core" rules but.... We came to the conclusion that TrueSight cancels out the shadow ability on armor and Ring of chameleon power and invisibility. (As they are all based off illusions) If nothing else that will help knock some of his bonuses off. |

| Alastar03-01-06, 09:53 PM | This solves the issue of finding him, but not the issue of killing him. When i'm polymorphed into the said creature, i can't cast spells at him. As for the summon monster that sniffs him out that is a good idea. But when the monster finds him, and i cast glitterdust, he dimension doors, rinses and repeats. Althought i could probably get me a wand of that druid spell that gives scent. |

You just need to spend a little time looking through the Monster Manual for creatures with those abilities that are humanoid... But why do that when you can just come here and ask us to do it for you, right? :P Grimlocks (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/grimlock.htm) are humanoids with Blindsight, but it only has a range of 40 feet. I'm sure there are probably better choices, but I'll let you (or someone else) look for them. |

Of course, there are OTHER means of your demise, but that eliminates the face-to-face possibility. |

Of course, there are OTHER means of your demise, but that eliminates the face-to-face possibility. Don't forget the immunity to poison, that's always helpful. Though Necropolitan is probably a better bet than a lich, as for becoming undead. To the OP, if you don't want to go through that whole hassle of becoming undead, just get some Light Fortification armor, or cast Obscuring Mist. If he has miss chance, he can't Sneak/Death attack you. If you can get your hands on a potion of Listening Lorecall or Embrace the Wild, you can get blindsense pretty easy. If you put ranks in listen, then Listening Lorecall can give you actual blindsight. If you glitterdust, it's on him. Even if he DimDoors, he's still got the glitterdust all over him. It "Cannot be removed and glitters until it fades". It'll also blind him, giving him that miss chance so he can't Sneak/Death attack you, hit him with a disentegrate and it's all over. |
