The Squidman
CE Anthromorphic Giant Squid

BAB: +13

Abil: Str 18 (+4)
Dex 20 (+5)
Con 10

Wis 14 (+2)
Cha 6 (-2)

Saves: Fort +7
Ref +22
Will +16

AC: 23 (Touch 18; Flat Footed 19)

Attack: +17 Touch (1 Negative Level)
Full Attack: +17/+15/+15/+15/+15/+15/+12/+10/+10/+10/+10/+10/+7/+5/+5/+5/+5/+5 Touch (1 Negative Level)

Special: Improved Grab; Ink Cloud; Jet; Low-Light Vision; Darkvision 60ft; Quick to Act +3; Discipline Focus (Weapon Focus (Setting Sun), Insightful Strike (Setting Sun), Defensive Stance (Setting Sun)); AC Bonus; Sense Magic; Evasion; Shadow Ride; Sudden Strike +2d6; Shadow Walk; Shadow Pounce; Energy Drain 1

Possessions: (To be added later for greater Broken-ness. The addition of the 'Shadow Hands' magic item could remove the need for the Swordsage levels altogether and allow full progression in the Soul Eater Class for more nasty Negative levels and Ranger levels for the Multiweapon fighting feats. Heck. get an item familiar. That way you get Alertness and a bunch of stuff more.)

Maneuvers (12 Unchosen)
Save DCs: 12 + Maneuver Level

Shadow Hand: Shadow Jaunt; Shadow Stride; Shadow Blink;

Stances (3 Unchosen)

Shadow Hand: Assassin's Stance

History: I'm not going to bother. There is no reason this should exist, so I'm not even going to pretend this has a history.

Expansions: Savage Species; BoVD; ToB; Shining South;

Notes: All stats apart from Int are derived solely from Racial modifiers and levels, using base 10. Uses Shadow Pounce with Shadow Jaunt, Shadow Stride and Shadow Stride to do 57 Negative levels to the opponent. If they're still alive after that, he uses Shadow Walk to get away and fetch an actual weapon, as they're probably immune to energy drain. Even then, they need to be immune to Sneak Attack as well or they're going to take 228d6 of negative energy damage.What do people think?

If anyone wants to know, Version 1 was just a Squidman with lots of Rogue levels and some Invisible Blade for good feinting. Version 2 was when the Soul Eater was added in, and now, with Crinti Shadow Marauder and Swordsage, we have version 3.

The amount fo touch attacks is great but the thing that really strikes me is the low fort save. Only +6 at level 18... You're really subject to a lot of horrible spells that you'll want a good fort save to survive (Disintegrate comes to mind, or any poison).

Do you get some sort of crazy long attack with the two long squid arms? Like 30'? I'm thinking of the Kraken that has two attacks at 100' and the rest at 30'.

You're really subject to a lot of horrible spells that you'll want a good fort save to survive (Disintegrate comes to mind, or any poison).This thing is a skirmisher, really. It teleports in, drops a whole bunch of negative levels onto things, then gets out like lightning. And I made a mistake on the Fort Save, it's actually +7, but still not a major hump. It'll have decent HP, and it'll have a fairly hefty Touch AC. Death effects are a problem, but remember, this thing is currently working without a single magic item, which leaves it a fairly hefty potential to cover that weakness. It also has the capability to take any of the Diamond Mind Concentration-check-instead-of-save abilities, which leaves it in good shape on that mark.

Do you get some sort of crazy long attack with the two long squid arms? Like 30'? I'm thinking of the Kraken that has two attacks at 100' and the rest at 30'.It only has reach as per a normal large sized creature. It's based on the giant squid, not the Kraken, unfortunatly.

Edit: Oh, and it's actually lvl 20, but only a CR 18.

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.Y'know... I hadn't actually spotted that parallel. Thank you.

Edit:I just realised that I should probably say that I in no way endorse the actual playing of this creature and that anyone who attempts this in my games WILL have the Pun-Pun assassination squad dropped on them after a short period of being a monster. I'll work it into the plot if I can, but it will happen even if I can't.

Edit:Edit: I've just realised that that is entirely the wrong way to go about it. Anyone playing this thing or anything like it in my games will find themselves facing opponents appropriate to their power level. Life armies of Elder Elementals or Vampire Lords.

I have a much more vicious form of retaliation.
