How about making a halfling ranger who rides his animal companion (Is this even possible, this is the first time I'm building a small sized rider)? I'm now having problems to decide how this ranger would be built. I've been thinking to make it an archer and the race would be Strongheart Halfling to get an extra feat. But what do you think? How to optimize this animal companion raider? How to multiclass, what feats and skills would be great for him, and all the advises you give me are really appreciated. The game setting is 3.5 Forgotten Realms and the starting level is 5th. |

Ranger6 / Halfling Outrider 8 / Order of the Bow 5 / Windrider 1 Another thing... Should I use wolf (is a halfling able to ride a wolf?) or riding dog as companion? Wolf's got extra 10ft/round speed but it's got worse AC and strenght and armoring the wolf would be an extra trick. |

As I can't imagine you not having mounted combat you'll be able to use ride checks in place of the wolf's AC so the AC should be less of an issue. |
