| Myzery7811-12-06, 04:37 AM | Now I know this might sound odd or even silly, but I was thinking about what kind of D&D character Yoda would be. A psion would probably do the best job replicating Yoda's unique abilities(telekinesis, psionic suggestion, retrieve), however being a psion would leave him severly disadvantaged in melee combat. While I wouldnt expect him to be an unstoppable machine of slaughter, I would like him to be nearly unhittable(able to maintain an AC of 80+ all day). Starting Stats: str 12 dex 18 con 16 int 14 wis 18 cha 16 Race: Kobold, Goblin, Gnome? I was considering a build like this one that grants him decent AC with less psionic capabilities: 1 Monk Dragonwrought 2 Monk 3 Monk Combat Expertise 4 Monk 5 Paladin 6 Paladin 7 Fist of Zouken 8 Fist of Zouken 9 Fist of Zouken 10 Fist of Zouken 11 Fist of Zouken 12 Fist of Zouken 13 Fist of Zouken 14 Fist of Zouken 15 Fist of Zouken Draconic Knowledge 16 Saint 17 Saint Now this isnt bad, it has many of the Yoda like qualities though I was wondering if anyone else had a different take on it. Im also unsure if he qualifies for Draconic Knowledge. If anyone else has suggestions for a build I'd really appreciate hearing them. |

There isn't a perfect parallel between the Force and anything in D&D, but I would argue that if there was anything that worked, I would say it was like the Weave (from the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting) or a deity. My arguement is going to go with the Weave, and thus (in most campaigns) Magic. He has to be Telepathic, Telekinetic, and awesome in combat. I am going to go for the idea of him being epic (which is not in my area of expertise), but he would definitely need some of the following classes - Swordsage (Enlightenment, weapon-use, martial arts; this covers alot of the Monk-ish aspects as well as his awesome lightsaber use.) Sorcerer -> Mindbender 1 -> Abjurant Chamion -> Master of the Unseen Hand (Telekinesis, Telepathy, additional defenseive options) Monk (Not sure how much, but this would fulfill most of the remaining concepts) Feats - He definitely needs some Weapon Finesse, and probably Intuitive Attack too. Past that, I might go with Vow of Poverty, Leadership, and something to make them both improve in Epic levels. I would not make him good, but I would make him Lawful. Yoda is balanced, and perhaps leans towards good, but does not fit a Paladin or a Saint. His powers come from enlightenment and focused study. Other than that, I think we have him pinned down pretty well. |
