| Faithless the Wonder Boy04-20-06, 10:26 AM | Just looking for thoughts on a build I was toying with for a little while, and looking for advice on feats... Changeling, Rogue 4/Marshal 1/Spymaster 4/Chameleon 10/Exemplar 1 1. Changeling Rogue1- Able Learner 2. Rogue2- 3. Changeling Rogue3- Skill Focus (Bluff) 4. Rogue4- 5. Marshal1- Skill Focus (Diplomacy) 6. Spymaster1- Urban Tracking 7. Spymaster2- 8. Spymaster3- 9. Spymaster4- Racial Emulation 10. Chameleon1- 11. Chameleon2- 12. Chameleon3- Leadership 13. Chameleon4- 14. Chameleon5- 15. Chameleon6- Hamstring 16. Chameleon7- 17. Chameleon8- 18. Chameleon9- ??? 19. Chameleon10- 20. Exemplar1- Marshal's minor aura will be motivate Charisma, most likely. I took the level in marshal because it's a trade of 1d6 sneak attack dice (no big loss) and 4 skill points for +2 on my fort/will saves, skill focus (diplomacy), and getting my Charisma twice on all Cha-skills. Good stuff, overall. Chameleon just seemed to fit with the whole infiltration/intrigue flavor, and has some pretty cool abilities overall... The last level in Exemplar was because - well, because why not? 1 + Int skill masteries, +4 to any one skill, and 8 skill points sounded good to me, and I'm not sure what else I'd take. I could also take another level in Marshal, for a major aura (eh), or keep going in Spymaster, for the high skill points and ability to dispel scrying sensors, but I thought the Exemplar's skillfulness would have been most useful. If I wanted, I could theoretically take that even earlier... The feats are a mess of whatever I felt like at the time. I qualify for every single class in the build feat-wise by level five, so I just kind of tossed whatever in there. Definitely need some advice on those. You can kind of see some of my lines of reasoning (for example, if I don't really care about sneak attack, why not transfer those sneak dice into a movement penalty?), but overall I need a lot of work there. I know that the build lacks trapfinding, but I'm not going for a trap-monkey here. If need be, I can always UMD or Chameleon out a spell of Trapfinding, and just pray I never go up against both a trap and an AMF at the same time. Stats are also something I'm curious about. I was thinking the following order: Int -> Cha -> Dex = Con -> Wis -> Str Intelligence obviously drives my skills, which is huge. Charisma is the main power behind those skills, and I get my charisma to them twice thanks to the Marshal aura. Dex/Con is - well, Dex drives more skills than Con, but Con does a better job of keeping me alive, so it's a tossup. After that, I don't really care. How would you stat this out with, say, 28 point buy? 32 point buy? I don't really have a book list, because it's just a theoretical build I made while toying with the idea of a social skill monkey. Because I don't have every book ever made, though, if you make a suggestion, it would be great help if you could list the source so I can look it up. Thanks for your advice! |
