I need a sorcerer with full casting progression that has diplomacy as a class skill (my DM won't let me take the cosmopolitan feat to allow a skill to be a class skill). He will be the only arcane caster in the party, so flexibility would also be nice!!! Does anybody have ideas that do not involve Unearthed Arcana?

People from the board have done a wonderful job putting all sorts of solid build together and put them all in one place.

If nothing else the material is very good for coming up with good questions to ask or ideas to use. If you still have questions after reading it people are usually pretty helpfull. But general questions like this usually get ignored or get basketweaving answers.

Hope you find what you need.

Make a Sorceror/Sacred Exorcist, and use your many many turn attempts to power Divine Metamagic and make metamagic useful for sorcerors again. :schemes:
Not to mention Sacred Healing to make you just dandy at healing too. :smirk:

Virtuoso. You'll probably have to lose a caster level, to get in at a reasonable level. Bard gets you some bardic mojo, rogue gets you enough skills to meet the pre-reqs easily, and d6 SA.

Or I'm sure there's some sort of harper build for you. Those things are sweet, for a skill-mage.

as of the CD errata divine metamagic can only be applied to divine spells, as well as being nerfed in other ways.

back to topic,
the following prc have diplomacy on the list

hathran (PGTF)
the rimefire witch (frostburn)
Stormsinger (frostburn)
coiled cabalist (serpent kingdoms)
ardent dilettane (planar handbook) :mymy: every skill is a class skill for him
Dracolyte(draconomicon) :( diplomacy preq
harper mage (magic of faerun)
harper priest(magic of faerun) :( diplomacy preq
celestial mystic (BoED)
exalted arcanist (BoED)

enjoy

I'm afraid there isn't a way of doing it without losing a caster level.
I'm working on a similar build for the contest of the month. You can check the detailed build on the thread, but is basically a Marshal 1/ Sorcerer 6/Exalted Arcanist 5/ Hatran 8.

In your case you could skip the exalted arcanist to avoid losing another caster level, is up to you.

I think that Motivate charisma is too good to pass up for any diplomacy based character. I have reached a +66 modifier (for now), but with a +30 diplomacy item, and a few more sinergies you could reach a +80 modifier. Seems enough to me :D

Oh. Damn. Well, the other aspect of nerfing DM makes sense, as in it can only be applied to metamagic feats you know. But instead of fixing the most powerful part of Divine Metamagic (the ability to enhance with Metamagic spells beyond your maximum spell level - Persistent Holy Star, anyone?) they just decide to jack arcane casters. :nonono:

Well, of course. That way, when they release Complete Arcane, they can stick in a feat that allows arcane casters to do the same thing...and everyone will have to rush out and buy it.
