First keep in mind that the precocious apprentice feat was allowed to work so thats not an issue.

I'm playing a neutral alignment character rebuke/command based that doesn't particularily like creating intelligent undead. She has no issues with controlling them though. She is a 1/2 drow that currently doesn't know who her god is. Domains = Death and Undeath.

Her current progression is as such:
1- Sorcerer - feat- prec. Apprentice- "command undead"
2- Cleric
3- Cleric - feat- Necromancy focus
4- Cleric
5- Mystic Theurge
6- True Necro - feat- practiced caster sorcerery
7- TN
8- TN
9- TN - feat-

either "lich loved" or "black lore of moil" are the 2 feats I am considering currently but any other suggestions are appreciated.

The lich loved would be so that I could take the Yathrinshee class. Thier necromancer class ability seems really good and would make spell resistance pretty darn easy to get past with my necromancy spells. The bad side of Yathrinshee is that I would lose 9th level clerical spells and 3 high end sorcery spells if this character ever gets to level 20. (our games are notorious for ending around 13-14th level regardless of who is running the game for some reason)

So the main question is: is the yathrinshee level worth it? I keep waffling back and forth so I'm having a hard time deciding.

Also any progression suggestions would be appreciated. I'm kinda currently planning on takeing True Necro all the way through, but would love to see other options/opinions.

thanks in advance

I'd ditch the Black Lore of Moil. That can get pretty expensive.

(I hate spending money to make money, it has the potential to get conterproductive if let out of control)

Now, Energy Substitution (cold) and Lord of the Uttercold is a nice combo.

Chilling pain for you enemies, sweet necro lovin' for your undead. I highly recommend skeletons though. :)

Take extra domain and use take deathbound, but only if you don't go by the errata.

Yathrinshee loses a LOT of caster levels. It only has 6/10 on both sides - not worth it, unless you're a BIG fan of the special abilities.

What's kinda cool about the Yathrinshee is that after you get Threnody (level 2), I think you now qualify for the Siren PrC from Savage Species...just a random thought.

go for the 1 level dip into Yathrinshee. your HD boost to what you can command will be out of this world. I highly recommend it. if you take your tenth level in Yathrinshee your ability to control undead HD will raise from 18 arcane and 14 divine to 32HD divine and arcane. much better if you ask me. you also end up with much better undead following you around. I might also suggest getting corpse crafter instead if practiced spell caster if thats possible. I think that the bonus to all created undead might be better in lower levels then extra HD of undead. just remember to take it later as its still usefull for this build.

Where is yathinshee from?

And where is the deathbound domain? never heard of either of those

Yathrinshee is from the players guide to ferune, The deathbound domain is in Libris mortis.

Thanks for the input. I only really have thought about taking the Yathrinshee class as a one level dip class for the necromancer special ability (add caster levels together for necromantic spells) at first level. I'm primarily waffling because it will mean losing yet another caster progression level in both classes. (losing me access to 9th level clerical spells and a 7,6 & 5th known sorcery spell)

The main reason I see for taking it is that it will allow me to almost always beat SR with my necromancy spells. The DoT's from frostburn have thier duration based on caster level which will make them brutal to anything effected by thier damage types.

Very few creatures that I have found have resistance to negative energy which is part of my thinking for Black lore of Moil. (so far in the game this character is in there has been excess gold with nothing to really spend it on, so I'm not really concerned about the cash it uses)

Lord of uttercold has a skill requirement of knowledge planes 9, which I have none of so far so it would take me 5 levels (2/lvl) worth of skill points before I could get it as a feat, so 15th level at the soonest. That kinda makes me rule it out as an option although not compleatly.

I know this is kinda a wierd True Necromancer but if anyone has any Advice/opinions regarding the Yathrinshee PRC and or future feats for this character I would love to hear it.

Thank you
