As an aasimar, you need to choose something that makes you look different from other humanoid races... Now I've chosen to have wings as my trace of deity. Now the problem is this: Can these wings be functional? I mean, somebody told me that these wings cannot be functional, because you need a feat. Now I've been checking the books, and none of them talks about flying as a feat. If anyone can help me, I'd be grateful... Angelus
Blade2718 09-26-04, 10:59 PM	You'd need the feat Outsider Wings from Races of Faerun. Otherwise, you can't have REAL wings as a gross physical aasimar trait.

For future reference, questions such as this might be better addressed in the races or monsters forum. This doesn't really have much to do with optimization, unless you're asking how you can get wings with your Aasimar. Now, as far as Aasimar go, here is the text from the SRD: Aasimars are usually tall, good-looking, and generally pleasant. Some have a minor physical trait suggesting their heritage, such as silver hair, golden eyes, or an unnaturally intense stare. So while you can pick something to reflect your heritage, I think its something much more "minor" then wings. As far as getting wings? There is a winged template in Savage Species, or the Half-Celestial Template. If you wanted to start with non-functional wings and eventually get working ones, you could look at classes like Favored Soul or Rainbow Servant.

necrosnoop110 09-26-04, 11:53 PM	The feat Outsider Wings is a general feat from Races of Faerun page 167. Outsider Wings has as a prerequisite the race of Aasimar and the feat Celestial Bloodline (or Tiefling and Fiendish Bloodline feat) among other annoying things. You most likely need to be at least 6th level before both feats and all the prerequisites can come together.
