Looking for good advice and some CO for my new character for a 2-man party.
And after having browsed through 40 pages of CO threads, I gave up and decided to make a post myself. :P

So far I've been looking at an Aasimar (LA +1) Favored Soul.
Although I'm not usually hot about healers, this class seems pretty interesting while adding some chance to survice... ;)

The other PC is going to be a Grey Elf Wu-Jen (yeah, I don't know how we're going to take the punches, but I'll put my faith in the GM so far).

Allowed books are the core + complete books.

We start out at level 3.
I would like to stay FS all the way through or at least only 1 PrC.

My rolled stats are: 8, 11, 11, 12, 14, 17.
Current placement is:
Str 11
Dex 8
Con 11
Int 12
Wis 14 (+2 racial) to 16
Cha 17 (+2 racial) to 19

House Rule: Knowledge (Religion) added to Favored Soul (my GM kinda "forced" it, as he didn't see how FS can be a divine caster with a "direct feed from a god" and not have any knowledge in that area)

As a last remark, although this is the CO and not RP board, I still put forth a cry for help as to a good story why my Aasimar should have been favored by Onatar!
My GM wont let me chose him without a good reason why!
And I like Onatar because I prefer CG to LG - as FS is limited in AL choice.
Furthermore, I've gotten kinda hooked on the idea of using a Warhammer and shield instead of the old boring Longsword.

Hit Me! :D

keep in mind with that 8 in dex, that favored souls only get medium armor proficiency. further, a lot of people on the boards are probably going to recommend putting your 14 into con...

Remember, favored souls only depend on wisdom for the DC's of their offensive spells. If you choose your spell selection such that you only pick healing and buffing and "remove xxxxx" spells, you don't need wisdom.

favored souls tend to suffer from multiple attribute dependency, even if factoring out wisdom... oy, your stats are hard to work with, but i'd go for:

Str 11
Dex 14
Con 11
Int 12
Wis 8 (+2 racial) to 10
Cha 17 (+2 racial) to 19

=P i'm sure others would suggest differently, but as i am currently playing a favored soul, that stat array is what i feel would come in handy the most. Put your level 4 ability score into Con then the rest into charisma.

Oh, and look to going lesser aasimar (LA +0). They lose outsider status (and get Planetouched instead) but still retain all the aasimar goodies.

Good luck playing a favored soul!!! i'm having a lot of fun playing mine (both for flavor and for mechanics -- i love spontaneous casting)

Edit:

If you have faiths and pantheons, one PRC that the FS can qualify for is the Windwalker... full BAB, good will saves, full spellcasting, and you get air and travel domain spells added to your spells known.

Taking it from the top...

with that 8 in dex, that favored souls only get medium armor proficiency
I'm not sure I understand what you mean.
From what I can see in the book, FS only get light and medium proficiency, I'd have to use a feat to get heavy, right?

Besides, with my current strength, I can hardly wear medium armor and the most important gear (remember, we're only 2 in this campaign, and the Wu-Jen has even less strenght).
Lesser Aasimar is found in / created how?

I do see your point about the wisdom and dex stat swap though, and it sounds very reasonable, especially when I can squeeze the race down to LA0.
If I should then switch dex and con, well, I'll think about that and see if anyone else has some input.

Last thing, where's PrC Windwalker from?
I don't seem to be able to locate it in the books listed above, but as long as it's WotC, there's a good chance the GM have it around and will let me have a go at it.
