I have had a lot of trouble finding anything on paladins that is in depth. I want to max a Aasimar Paladin. The Paladin will use a Greatsword. Advice is greatly appreciated.

Not enough stuff on paladins? I find that HIGHLY doubtful...

The 3.5 Paladin Build Thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75476)

Also, Blade2718's current pet build: Cleric 3/Human Paragon 3/Prestige Paladin 3/Fist of Raziel 10/ Contemplative 1

Get back to us with a build and we can work our min/max-fu.

Oh yeah, Divine Disciple...THAT'S a good addition. The core was Clr3/PrPal3/FoR10.

Yes, the 3.5 Paladin Thread is a great start.

Okay, I went and looked at that thread that you linked me to. What books are used to make those builds?

Practically every book. If you take a build and post it w/ any modifications you might want to make, then we could point out what materials are used and what other possible tweaks to make.

Paladin 5/ Templar 4/ War master 10
Paladin 10/ Fighter 1/ Cleric 1/ War Priest 8
Fighter 1/ Paladin 4/ Templar 10/ Divine Champion 5
Paladin 4/ Rogue 10 / Divine Champion 5/ Knight of the Middle Circle 1
Paladin 12/ Contemplative 2/ Nar Demonbinder 1/ Sacred Exorcist 5
Paladin 3/ Rogue 2/ Templar 3/ Sword Dancer 10/ War Preist 2

I am interested in these builds. What books are used for these. I want to look them all up and weigh the differences between them. And what all books should I use to decide feats. Please bear with me here. Kinda new at all of this multiclassing and using lots of books thing. I am used to just going straight from the PHB. Thanks much.

Geez. Here goes:
Templar, Warpriest, Contemplative, Sacred Exorcist are from Complete Divine
Divine Champion is from Player's Guide to Faerun
Nar Demonbinder is from Unapproachable East
Sword Dancer is from Faiths and Pantheons
Knight of the Middle Circle is from Defenders of the Faith.

Pick one that interests you the most and post up a detailed build. The more details, the better help you can get from others.

Major feats and prestige classes for paladins can be found in Defenders of the Faith, Complete Divine, and Book of Exalted Deeds.

Also, use the availible resources, like the 3.5 Build FAQ, the Optimization Library, and the search function. And when new to a board, the associated Board FAQ is also a good read.

You might consider this a bastard sword instead of a greatsword. Uncanny Blow lets you get 2x Str damage with the BS. Then when you get your Divine Crusader domain, you can use the Str enhancing spells from it to boost your damage.

Exotic Weapon Master is in Complete Warrior. Divine Crusader is in Complete Divine.

Fighter2/Paladin4/Exotic Weapon Master1/Divine Crusader10

Ftr1 [Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Bastard Sword] [FREE]
Ftr2 [Weapon Focus: Bastard Sword]
Ftr2/Pal1 [Power Attack]
Ftr2/Pal2
Ftr2/Pal3
Ftr2/Pal4 [Divine Might]
Ftr2/Pal4/EWM1 (Uncanny Blow)
Ftr2/Pal4/EWM1/Divine Crusader1-10 (War or Strength Domain)

Thanks much Blade. I will post the detailed build when I am done with my research.

Poo. If all you wanted was a domain, you might as well go for my Cleric/Prestige Paladin build; you get two of them. A single domain or two domains PLUS the clerical spell list?

The domain was sorta an aside, really that one is about Uncanny Blow.

I didn't say it was a good build, just an idea, I'm still new to this. :D

How does your Clr3 meet the +4 BAB requirement for Prestige Paladin?

I had other stuff in there too. Personally, I used Human Paragon 3.

A greatsword-wielding Paladin? I like the Windwalker PrC for such an angle, due to its emphasis on the greatsword. Here is an effective 10th level Paladin/Ranger greatsword-wielder with some nifty tracking, outdoors-abilities, 5th level "expanded" spellcasting, and a bunch of other goodies.

Ranger1 / Paladin4 / NentyarHunter4 / Windwalker1

You can go a bunch of different directions from here. Although MAD does kick in on such a build - so builder beware...

Dang...I was reading the thread and was thinking "the windwalker would be great for this" then I get to the final post by snow and she suggested it :D

You'd need to be a paladin of freedom or slaughter to qualify, as Windwalker requires a CN patron god, and I don't think aasimar can take windwalker anyway, only humans and air gensai.

Hrmmm, sounds pretty cool. What books are used in this build?

Windwalker is from Faiths and Pantheons (a Forgotten Realms book)

Okay, I have run into a new problem. In order to take levels in Divine Crusader you have to have Weapon Focus with your diety's chosen weapon. There are no dieties that are LG that have Greatsword as thier favored weapon.....

What about LN or NG deities? You can worship a deity whose alignment is one step away from your own.

Make a Paladin of Freedom...then you don't have to be lawful
Ryion Greyborne

07-30-04, 03:37 PM
What exactly does that entail?
SolitudeSeraph

07-30-04, 03:40 PM
It's almost exactly like a Lawful Good paladin but for Chaotic Good people..it removes some spells you can cast and adds new ones, changes your 3rd level aura to something different...and you're chaotic good..check unearthed arcana for more info

Torm from Forgotten Realms is a LG god of paladins and has greatsword as his favored. If you're curious, you can check out the Human Paragon/Cleric/Prestige Paladin build I put together here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=255757#post3852984).
