Need some help power gamin' this character.

Looking for an Aasimar Paladin, but with at least one level of monk. I plan on using a Halberd, but also using unarmed strikes for foes that draw to close, and since they provoke attacks from me.
My ECL must be 4.
Looking to be built from scratch, open to any help. Thanks!

Halberds aren't reach weapons if thats what you mean. Easier than taking a level in monk is using a spiked gauntlet or simply stepping back if you want to use reach

Well, with only ECL 4 I'd go... Monk2/Paladin2

Monk1 Imp Unarmed, Imp Grapple/Stunning Fist, Power Attack
Monk2 Combat Reflexes
Monk2/Pal1 Power Lunge

Done.

mean liar, you're the monk guy around here. what do you think of this build? a friend of mine wanted to play a pal/mnk with reach weapons and kicks of fury, and this was my suggestion.

3.5
half-celestial human

rolled stats with racial adjustments
str 21
dex 15
con 17
int 12
wis 19
cha 20

1-4 pal (power attack@1, e-w-p: spiked chain@1, cleave@3)
5-20 mnk (divine might@6, t-w-f@9, great cleave@12, imp-t-w-f@15, gr-t-w-f@18)

that's 4 attacks a round at 2d4+1.5str and 3 attacks a round at 2d8+1str. admittedly, it's a slow progression, but this character is starting at 11th ecl, so the hard part of staying alive is already over.

let me know what you think...

word.

Half-Celestial for a 0HD base creature is LA +2 (from the BoED).

Yes, like why you resurrected a nine-month old thread.
