So ive been toying with a few Aasimar Favored Soul ideas and I came upon something rather interesting. In Races of Faerun ther are some Aasimar only feats that let you use some spell-like abilities a few times a day. Celestial Bloodline, Light to Daylight, and Eyes of Light are what i am thinking of. Eyes of Light lets you shoot a beam of searing light (the spell) from your eyes once a day at a caster level equal to your character level in place of one of your uses of your light spell like ability.

Now, while i know it is not official, there is a feat in Mongoose's book of feats, Spontaeous Spell-like Caster, that lets you sacrifice spells of and equal level or higher from the same spell list to cast your spell like abilities without counting towards your daily limit of said spell like ability. Seems pretty neat. Using this you could have a character that can shooting searing light from his/her eyes many times a day. Figure this could also be an ok archer as well.

Do any of you know of a feat or a way that I could increase my uses of spell-like abilities without having to take the mongoose feat?

I know this may be sub-optimal, but being Cyclops with a bow seems pretty fun! Here are some feats I'm considering:

Celestial Bloodline
Eyes of Light (flaw)
Point Blank Shot (flaw)
Precise Shot
Spontaneous Spell-Like Caster (mongoose)
Light to Daylight
Maximize Spell-Like ability
Quicken Spell-like ability

Id prefer to find a feat that could increase my ses of aspell-like ability thats in the wizards books instead of using the mongoose one to get more uses. But i cant seem to find one if it even exists. So this is how my idea has panned out so far.

Any Thoughts?

Why make it so complicated? Just look in the DMG, or Savage Species... and make a trade with your DM. Give yourself a Level Adjustment in trade off for some serious powers. The optional rules are right in the book. I think an extraordinary power is worth +1 LA, like extraordinary stats are.

Or just look at the celestial aspect spell from boed. bamf. instant eye rays.

Depending on how you interpret the way eyes of light is worded, magic in the blood regional feat may either give you 2 extra uses of none at all. See how it goes down with your dm.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look hard at the magic in the blood feat. I'm trying to find a way to do this within the official Wizards rules. Our cmapaigns in the past have become too crazy due to a lot of crazy player feats, classes, and high ability scores from our own process of character generation. This time around we are going to try things a little mroe as intended by the writers. Which is why im trying to get more uses of a spell-like ability without resorting to the mongoose book.

From a CO standpoint, there's a feat in the new Aberrations book that lets you enchant your eyes with any ranged-touch spell you have ... and fire two at once, possibly at different targets. Take that rather than Eyes of Light.
