Using (or abusing) the new Divine Metamagic gives enourmous potential for abuse. In particular Divine Metamagic (Persistent).

So here is the deal. Take a paladin with 18 charisma and the spell Divine Sacrifice. Though it is a 3.0 spell there are still a lot of people using it in 3.5 and 3.25.
Cast Persistent Divine Sacrifice and buy one (or more) wands of cure light wounds. Each wand has a healing potential of 50*(1D8+1) = 275 hp. By sacrificing this the paladin can add 28*5D6 to damage = 490 damage pr wand.
This should come in handy when the party is going up against a dragon later that day.

Or the most extreme 24hours*60minutes*10rounds*5D6 ~ 250000 damage the problem is finding a way to deal the 144000 hp sacrificed.

Wow that is one broken spell, even without Divine Persistent. Good job.

Edit: I just re-read the spell. I don't think it works. Here's the exact text from Defenders of the Faith:

For every 2 hit points you sacrifice, on your next successful attack you deal +1d6 damage, to a maximum of +5d6 on that attack... For example, an 8th level paladin can cast this spell with a duration of 4 rounds. If she sacrifices 10 hit points a round and hits in every round, she can spend up to 40 hit points and deal up to +20d6 of additional damage.

In other words, she can deal up to +20d6 of TOTAL additional damage, spread out +5d6 per round.

Good effort, though.

Well, divine sacrificie was rerpinted in 3.5`s CW, if I am not mistaken. They changed the duration however, but I dont know to what extent without my books, so I dont know it this stunt still works at all.

However, even if divine sacrifice is persistable, I still think laotching is right, you cant get more that 5d6 on one attack per round.

Still, nice job.

EDIT:
Divine Sacrifice was reprinted in BoED, not CW. They changed the duration so that the spell automatically ends after you have delt damage.

So persistant spell works, but is rather pointless, as it gives you just +5d6 dmg on one attack for that day, after which the spell is discharged.
