But what keeps me from attaching it to "spells" since spells are listed under special attacks? Then again so are spell like abilities, and I think it's pretty clear that this feat doesn't raise every spell like ability a creature possesses. Perhaps it can only be attached to one spell then. It might still be useful then for certain versatile spells such as baleful polymorph. So let's discuss how and where we can apply this feat effectively. So what are the best ways to apply this feat to class features and playable races? |

It's certainly not wasted on an animal companion or familiar, considering how limited their feat choices usually are. But one of the problems I'm seeing is that "special attacks" are very very general when it comes to class features. This means that it takes extra consideration when applying this feat, since as I pointed out: Applying this to spells is broken, but not against the rules as stated. It's better than any and all of the spell focus feats. Most playable races don't have abilities that can apply to this feat, or are normally worth it. Let's face it, A Teifling's darkness (Sp) is nice, but not worth this feat. At least in my opinion. But these boards commenly use Savage Species and a wide variety of options from Races of Faerun, Oriental Adventures, and many other books. So I was curious: What are the most optimized uses of this feat? and Is it balanced to ever consider this feat applicable to at least a single spell? |
