05-06-05, 07:35 PM ABILITY FOCUS [GENERAL]
Choose one of the creature’s special attacks.
Prerequisite: Special attack.
Benefit: Add +2 to the DC for all saving throws against the special attack on which the creature focuses.
Special: A creature can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time the creature takes the feat it applies to a different special attack.

Spells are a special attack. Why would every spellcaster not take this feat?

05-06-05, 09:29 PM Spells are "special" and you can "attack" with them, but they are not a "special attack" pre se. See the Monster Manual description of Special Attacks for what falls under this ability.

You are, however, correct that monsters that have spell entries have it listed under Special Attacks in their Monster Manual listing.

05-06-05, 11:21 PM Yes, the Nymph (MM) for example, has Spells listed on the Special Attack line, contradicting the definition of what is a "Special Attack."

I'd not allow it though.
