Ability Score increase?? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-20-04, 07:13 PM Never been here before, so I don't know if it's the right place but it seems like it (either this or the basic PHB board).

When you gain an ability increase every 4 levels, are the benefits retroactive for Con and Int? (hitpoints and skill points)

03-20-04, 07:30 PM the right place for this is the PHB board. The CO (this one) is not for rules clarification, but to optimization, minmaxing...

Concerning your question, CON changes are always retroactive. If you change your CON, your bonus hp might change. On the other hand, if you change INT by level 10, you don't get the extra skill points for previous levels.
