Now what does this mean?

Does this mean a Wiz5 Inc10 AC5 gets

A) BAB 2(Wiz)+5(Inc)+5(AC)=12
if I read this all wrong and it doesn't include BAB adjustments

B) BAB 2(Wiz)+10(Inc)+5(AC)=17
assuming you choose to add the bonus to INC

C ) BAB 5(Wiz)+5(Inc)+5(AC)= 15
assuming it has to be added to the base class that allowed spellcasting

OR

D)

Does it increase the spellcasting level of partial caster progress classes like say spellsword aka

Ftr1 Wiz4 SS10 AC5

BA 18 CL 14

I really can't quite figure it out.

Fighter 14 / Wizard 1 / Abjurant Champion 5
Base Attack Bonus: +19
Primary Caster Level: 6
Caster Level with Martial Arcanist: 19

Wizard 14 / Fighter 1 / Abjurant Champion 5
Base Attack Bonus: +13
Primary Caster Level: 19
Caster Level with Martial Arcanist: 13 (opt out)

Wizard 13 / Fighter 1 / Sorcerer 1 / Abjurant Champion 5 (advancing sorcerer)
Base Attack Bonus: +12
Wizard Caster Level: 13
Sorcerer Caster Level: 6
Sorcerer Caster Level with Martial Arcanist: 12

10-11-06, 06:01 PM I'm not sure where your confusion lies. In all of the above builds you only have one arcane spellcasting class. Wizard. The wizards caster level is, whatever it is. For wiz 5/inc 10/AC 5 it is 20. Your bab for this build is 12. The class ability allows you to set your caster level to 12 if it isn't already higher than that, which it is, so the ability does not function.

For the second build you have a bab of 18 and a CL of 14. In this case you can choose to set your CL to 18. You can do this because that is your BAB and it is higher than 14, the requirement of the ability to function is met.
