Mistwell 09-03-05, 01:12 AM	I saw this posted about 10 pages back as being one of the better Wizard builds: Abjurer o' Doom: Abjurer 5/Mindbender 1/Geometer 2/Fatespinner 2/IotSV 7/Archmage 3 However, I've gone 25 pages back and still cannot seem to find a thread about ths character concept. Anyone have a link? Or, anyone have any insight on why this is a particularly good combo, what tactics it uses, what race is best with it, what items and feats and skills and spells it tends to focus on, etc...?
bluelighter0 09-03-05, 04:22 AM	Well, Abjurer 5 because, well, it's an Abjurer. Mindbender one is for the Telepathy ability, Geometer 2 is for the Book of Geometry ability, Fatespinner 2 gives you a couple points to take off someone's saving throws, which is good if you can hit them with one of your Veils (Initiate of the SFV), and Archmage is, well, Archmage. I'm sure someone (like the build designer) could give you more info, but it mostly just seems like a cherry-pick build that uses IotSFV and Abjuration to do fun protective things.
WizardlyFriend 09-03-05, 04:58 AM	i love initiate, but i usually play it like: Wizard 6/Geometer 3/IotSV 7/Archmage 4 then i usually specialize in abjuration adn use the abjuration variant in UA that lest me spontaineously cast dispel magic. which makes dispelling a lot easier. witht that variant improved counterspell is optional, but reactive is still a good choice i woulnd't recomend mindbender in this build because geometer already has two cross class pre-requisites and mindbender has another 4.
Mistwell 09-03-05, 12:21 PM	When it was posted, it was listed as one of the three more powerful common builds on these boards. I'm getting the impression that maybe that isn't the case, that it's just your run-of-the-mill arcane build with some min/maxing done to it?
WizardlyFriend 09-03-05, 12:33 PM	it isn't your run of hte mill arcane build, but it also isn't your insanely broken, no DM will let you play it build. it's a pretty good arcane build
