Beguiler 6/Barbarian 1/Eldritch Knight 1/ Abjurant Champion 5/EK 2-8

BAB +17
CL 18
In light armor or Abjurant goods
Beguiler spell list allows both versatility and some combat effectivness beyond most
Feint as a free action with imp. feint

Its an okay gish and it may alrady have been done (haven't already checked) but its got quite a bit going for it. I just like it even though it is a little simple compared to some builds.

11-09-06, 07:47 PM The beguiler is not the best casting class to make as a basis for a gish. The strength of the beguiler is the fact that it has a great spell list for sitting back and controlling the battlefield coupled with a rogue skill list and skill points. There is nothing besides the marriage of spellcasting and rogue skill abilities that a beguiler can do better than a wizard, and many things not as well.

There are a couple builds that a beguiler is better at than a wizard. But all of those builds have mostly beguiler, or at least follow a path where they can keep up with their rogue skill list.

Basically, if you aren't focusing on playing a rogue type or going straight into shadowcraft mage, there is little to no reason to start as a beguiler over a wizard.

11-09-06, 07:54 PM Why Barbarian? You can't cast spells while raging, so I think a level of Fighter would be better.

And more fundamentally, a Beguiler doesn't have the Abjuration spells needed to use the Abjurant Champion's class abilities. It would actually struggle to qualify for it at all I suspect.
