anyone know of a way to use knockdown, specifically with a reach weapon, to really put a hurt on?

also, perhaps i am mistaken, but i think i remember seeing/hearing about a feat which lets you make a free melee attack against someone who has just been tripped/is prone

is this a real feat? if so where did it come from?

this is in relation to a spearfighter which ive been considering, perhaps with some psychic warrior for standstill. any help on that would also be appreceated (btw, we are supposed to be lvl 7 or so)

Improved Trip lets you make an immediate melee attack against an opponent you've just successfully tripped at the same BAB you used to trip him. It's a prerequisite for Knockdown. However, note that if you use Knockdown to get a free trip attempt against an opponent, you can not then use Improved Trip to get a free melee attack if your trip is successful.

why is that? im afraid i dont have my books in front of me.
because that would be damn cool if i could knockdown, get another hit, and another with expert tactician, because a prone foe is denied dex, right?

Imp. Trip and Knockdown can't be used together because the Erratta says they can't. Otherwise it would become very unbalanced. And a prone target is not denied his dex bonus, so no Expert Tacticianing.
