The Word
The Diplomancer
The H.I.V.E. (abuses the Black Speech rules in BOVD)
Divine Metamagic

I've heard of em but never actually seen them. diplomancer seems fun to play(if only to bug my DM)

after reading the HIVE i had to re-read it a second time to make sure i was reading correctly

05-02-05, 02:41 PM The Word: uses Use Magic Device and a Staff of Holy Word. The UMD check is so high that it emulates a level 110 Cleric, and uses the staff. Anything nongood with 100 or less hit dice dies, no saving throw.

The Diplomancer: makes DC 155 Diplomancy checks even on a roll of 1. That makes any hostile creature have a fanatic follower attitude after one round of talking. Look Here (http://archive.gamespy.com/comics/dorktower/archive.asp?nextform=viewcomic&id=1013) for an example.

Divine Metamagic: Look up the feat in the Complete Divine, making sure to not the changes in the errata (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/er/20040125a). Look up the metamagic feat Persistent Spell in the Complete Arcane. Use Divine Metamagic: Persistent Spell on buffs like Divine Favor and Meld Into Stone at the lower levels, and on spells like Divine Power, Shapechange, and Choose Destiny at the higher levels. You'll get the idea.

05-02-05, 03:43 PM the comic got a few chuckles :) yeah the diplomacy guy seems like a bore (when used in conjunction with loads of battles [talks a good fight]), and makes diplomatic situations moot point, but all in all i would probly have fun convincing a Great Red Wyrm to give his treasure hoard to the peasants and become their protector...

As a side note, if I remember correctly, the Word was based on a flawed understanding of how Ur-Priest and MT levels interacted, and thus was not a legal build.
