Howdy, I was wanting to play a wizard, and I do not want to have to invest the feats for the armor and shields, even though i can get them down to no arcane stuff, my DM has given me the eye about using armor because that is mildy over-doing it in his eyes.
From what i have seen in my char so far is
Starting lvl 20 Gray Elf
Modified Stats:
Str 10
Dex 18
Con 18
Int 38
Wis 18
Cha 10

With those my ac looks like this
Bracers of armor +8
Ammy of NAC +5
+4 dex
RoP+5
and a Luckstone with gives me +1 Insight
now i also have a +5 Defending/ +5 Defending Quarterstaff
In total that gives me 43 AC

Now i was wondering if there are any feats, more magical items besides armor and shields that i have to invest feats for, or magical items that i am missing that could help. Thanks in advance!

I'm kinda doubting the +5 Defend/+5 Defend. It gives an AC bonus that seems unnamed, but both of them are from the same source (your Defending weapon).

Simple bonus: Alter self into a Troglodyte. There's another +6 NA. This gets more silly when you use Polymorph/Shapechange.

Another option: Don't get hit! Fly, Improved Blink, Superior Invis, etc. Save your money for more important things like Cloaks of Protection.

shapechange: Dread Linnorm will get you a fair bit of natural armor and other defensive goodness

I assume you're getting a Con boost from a belt or something? Otherwise you'd be crazy to have an Amulet of NA ...actually there's probably something better to put there anyway.

AC just isn't that important.

Mithral Buckler and THisledown Padded armour have 0ACP and 0%ASF so you can wear them happily -enchant them to +1 then add Fortification/deathward/whatever. Use (Greater) Mage Armour for Armour AC to free up the bracer slot for something better.

You really really shouldn't be making the attacks necessary to use a defending quarterstaff (or even wielding it in two hands which would prevent you casting by itself).

there is a none cannon series of feats called unarmored defence it's in a book aptly named "feats" published by mongoose publishing, also this these feats are mostly 3.0 but that doesn't mean they can't be used

If you have Serpent Kingdoms, opt to alter self into a tren instead, since it gives +8NA.

I am not sure if defending is all that good for a wizard, since the FAQ at the back of the 3.0 PHB states that using a defending weapon is identical to using expertise. This means that you must actually attack with your defending weapon to receive the AC bonus, leaving you with just a move action for your round.

However, if it actually otherwise, then feel free to add +1 defending horned helmet(races of faerun), defending shoe blades etc and use greater magic weapon to increase their enhancement bonuses to +5 each.:)

well, you could always pick up a mithral buckler, and give it the +5 and animated qualities, and maybe arrow snagging wehile you are at it. As a wizard however, try using spells that make you just plain hard to hi by miss chance, I believe this was said already but spells like blur, displacement, mirror image, and ghostform are all good at making sure you are hard to hit, also, never forget the awesomeness that is levitate. All they can really hit you with is ranged weapons, and you have a buckler for that. :)

Get a monk's belt. That will add +5 and give you a decent unarmed attack.
