AC Optimization ((Natural)) [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-04-05, 01:15 PM Okay, I've been toying with a new build that might not exactly be optimized but, I hope to get help from all of you people! Skill requirements will be tight at lower levels but, it works. So, here goes. The build is trying to take into account the best Armor Class as possible. I also love the Deepwarden so, see how this looks:

Crucian Ranger 2/Stoneblessed 3/Deepwarden 10/XXX 5

So, the Deepwarden will give me an outrageous AC (especially with some Heavy Plate). I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to drop for the last five levels. Obviously I want to be the tank of the party with a nice "human hating" flare.

Help me optimize this (with feats) please. The rest of my party is 1) Favored Soul, 2) Fighter (tactical), 3) Psion.

I'd love to see this crab-man just molash a lot of things and, at the same time, not get hurt. ;)

07-04-05, 04:35 PM Speak on NA... I found a race in the Underdark book, that only has LA+2, and 2 racial hit dice, but has a +7 Natural Armor. They are a medium sized humanoid reptilian race, i think their name was Phaexxxx something.

07-04-05, 05:08 PM Well, we're using the LA Buyoff system so, a +2 isn't really that unnerving to me. Also, with a +2 LA you get +8 NA, +4 STR, +6 CON, Low-light vision. I'm playing a crucian right now (I'm a level 1 ranger) so I can't change it and I really like it.

Large Size (-1 to AC, which is bad, but don't worry) - +8 Str, +4 Dex, +4 Con, +4 Wis, +9 Natural Armor. 3hd and +0 LA, so that's 3 of your 5. Turns you into a Monstrous Humanoid, but since you were talking "crab person", I'm assuming that is OK :)
Anthropomorphic Cachalot Whale - As above, but +1 LA for an additional +2 Con and +2 Wis.

And of course you'd hate all those people hunting you for your blubber!

... bunch of bastards! lol, I wanna be a Anthro Baleen Whale Psychic Warrior from Atlantis! or a Sumo Wrestler!

07-05-05, 04:43 PM You might want to check with your DM about deepwarden. Some interpret "He adds his Constitution bonus to AC instead of his Dexterity" as meaning armors have max-con bonuses. It may seem flimsy to some, but it's an opionion your DM might share.
