Acid Damage [Archive] - Wizards Community

BoED, BoVD, Core PHB/MM/DMG, MM2, MM3, Libris Mortis, Fiend Folio, ECS, Lords of Madness, Sharn: City of Towers, FRCS, FRPHB, Races of Faerun, Masters of the Wild, Epic Handbook, Ghostwalk(Whatever the ghost book is), Complete Warrior, and Complete Adventurer..

I need to know any things that can be used to deal ACID damage. Only acid is a concern. SPells, Items, Weapon enhancements, Monsters.. If it's a spell, say it's Spell Level. Include book for whatever it is.. The bonus cost for weapon enhancements.. The CR for monsters.

I'm trying to see just how many things can kill my War Troll.

Spells: Acid Fog, Acid Splash, Storm of Vengence, Orb of Acid (CArc), Vitriolic Sphere (CArc)

Warlock Invocation (CArc): Vitriolic Blast

Psionic Powers: Dissolving Touch, Breath of the Black Dragon

Feats: Energy Substitution (CArc), Energy Admixture (CArc), Draconic Breath (CArc)

Monsters: Google this - "acid site:d20srd.org/srd/monsters"

Corrosive and acidic blast?(my best guesses for the names, help a guy out, I think they are in the arms and equipment guide)

07-26-05, 07:47 PM Err...pretty much ANY damage-dealing elemental spell, if the opponent has Energy Substitution (acid.)

You do realize that there are things other than acid that can kill a War Troll, right?

07-27-05, 08:09 AM Simple solution is to find a way to be immune to acid, or at least heavily resistant.

The ideal way would be to take the Voidmind template from MM3. Not only does it make you immune to acid, it also makes you immune to mind control, energy drain, ability damage, ability drain, and some other things. It's very nice.

There was a thread about this a while back, let me dig up the link.

Here it is. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=397533) She started off with the idea of a half-dragon war troll (using a dragon variety immune to acid) then someone geniusly suggested the Voidmind and it went on from there. IIRC the end result was an ECL 21 character that is nigh unkillable unless the method of killing involves MDJ or in some other way removing magic items from the character so you can hit it with negative levels or certain instant death spells, or Epic spells.
