Besides going in monk, is there any way for a character to get adamentite fists (the actual fists, I don't want adamentite gauntlets)?

Do you mean Ki strike (adamantine)? If so then the kensai could be a good option as it lets you enchant your fists as weapons, it doesnt make them adamantine but there is an enhancement you could apply which lets you bypass damage reduction of most metals, i cant remember what its called though. I do know that the kensai is from the complete warrior though;) .
Hope that helps

there is a spell in BoED that gives your natural attacks the adamantine advantages for a short period

Have a DM with a good imagination?

I was playing my Vow of Poverty/Peace Monk, and he dispelled a portal to another realm that was mixed good and evil magic. A shockwave from the dispelling of the portal transmuted various appendages of people that interacted with it. My hands were changed into marble. Afterwards I found out that by concentrating and touching another substance, I could change my hands into whatever material I wanted. I used silver for a while, since it was readily available, but I was able to get my "hands on" a bit of adamantine.

The Metalline enhancement from the Underdark book allows you, for a +2 cost, to alter from one type of metal to another as a standard action...perhaps your DM will allow you to stretch this and apply it to your fists.

Ring of Adamantine Touch, BoED. It costs 120000gp but works for both wielded weapons and natural attacks. Oddly the spell that it is based off of (Touch of Adamantine from the same book) does not work on natural attacks but will work on the Unarmed Strikes of a Monk (because they are treated as Weapons).
