As a good D&D approximation, I agreed to adapt the Battletitan dinosaur (MoM3 p.38) for his use. Unfortunately my adaptations have ended up either leaving him with way too few hp, an unbalanced path of advancement, or being way too complicated for a newbie player. My best attempt so far gave him ECL15 and 12HD (ad-hoc loss of 3HD for a decent 1d8/2HD breath weapon and Awakened to 8 Int as a freebie) and 1 feat per three HD to keep things simple. It works ok except the average 160hp or so seems a bit low to me - just a little higher than a 15th level fighter with 18 Con at 150ish. Maybe it'll balance out with buffing, but I'd like some feedback on my adaptation before I let him build his character based on it. In general, it should be as close to the critter in MoM3 as possible (with the addition of a decent but not overwhelming breath weapon)... just cut back to fit an ECL15 group of PCs and with balanced advancement. Thanks! |

His con bodifier doesn't help him as much when his HD are cut in third. Although, if your allowing him rolled stats, he's starting with hefty bonuses to each stat. +32 to strength... +18 to con... +2 to wis and +6 to Charisma.. I think he's getting a good deal. Oh, and in the long run, this thing will beat the fighter you mentioned in HD, but the fighter will run in short due to larger HD. |
