| Gandrel02-12-07, 09:26 AM | Yesterday i was checking out the oficial base classes that represent best the concept of a mage fighter aka gish,so I come up with a build that can add three ability mod. to dmg. It is quite simply so im posting it, if you guys could give me some feedback or sugestions in the progression I already thanks in advance. So here it is: swashbuckler 3/warmage4/duskblade 3. Now explaining: the insightful strike from swashbuckler stacks with the warmage edge that can be used in a melee atack through the duskblades arcane channeling. So a normal melee atack would not only add the str. mod. and the weapon dice damge but would add the int. mod. twice: one from the warmage edge other from the swashbkucler. This build has only the basics to do the trick I would like sugestions in feats and prestige classes. |
| Prominence02-12-07, 09:44 AM | I would've just done Swordsage 4 or 5... with Shadow Blade feat (str, dex, wis). I would suggest Warblade for you if you don't want to progress spellcasting. You will gain manuevers and more intelligence synergy. Duskblade would be good to progress to 13, also, to channel full attack. If you decided to only progress duskblade to the first channel ability, then Abjurant Champion would do nicely. |
| Gandrel02-12-07, 09:56 AM | Where are from this abjurant champion? Realy the progression to duskblade is a good call, I also could reduce the warmage to only one level, then use your combo of sworsage 5 with shadow blade...that would stack? |
| ChristopherGroves02-12-07, 10:18 AM | Warmage Edge only applies to Warmage spells ... is this something you want as a one-trick or to be somewhat sustainable? |
| LiamDeclan02-12-07, 10:23 AM | Swashbuckler 3/Duskblade 3/Warmage 1/Abjurant Champion 5/Spellsword 1/Swordsage 1/Jade Phoenix Mage 4/ Warmage 2 BAB of 18, Progress the Warmage casting so you now have 6th level spells, Int to damage twice, Dex to damage if you take the Shadow Blade feat, Str to damage and can also swap out spells to do up to +6d10 on each hit. Taking Warmage for 2 more levels at the end gives you the ability to use Advanced Learning for a better selection of spell choices. I would take Combust for a touch attack it would do 10d8 with no save. So in 1 hit you could do 1d6 + dex, Str, Int w/shortsword + 10d8 + Int w/Combust, and a swift action to burn a 6th level spell slot for +6d10 damage too. Grab Arcane Strike to use a free action to burn up more slots for +1d4/spell level in damage too. |
| Phoenix0002-12-07, 10:26 AM | Shiba Protector will add wis to damage. Can work with Swashbuckler. Also check out the "X stat to y bonus thread" Google it with that name. |
| Talok02-12-07, 10:39 AM | A swashbuckler/champion of corellon can add str, dex, and int to damage with finessable weapons. A swashbuckler/swordsage with shadowblade can add dex, wis, and int to damage with shadowhand weapons in a shadow hand stance. |
| Prominence02-12-07, 11:04 AM | Swashbuckler 3 / Swordsage 7 / Revenant Blade 5 / Champion of Corel Lath 2 / Duksblade 3 (add some SS at the end) ..would be rather interesting. INT to damage, DEX to damage, DEX to damage, WIS to damage on manuevers, Full STR on both TWF hits, bonus feats. ((bloodclaw master or something can be used instead of Rev Blade). |
| Gandrel02-12-07, 12:12 PM | Warmage Edge only applies to Warmage spells ... is this something you want as a one-trick or to be somewhat sustainable? Realy? Man what a bumer! So the same aplies for the duskblade spells? |
| ksbsnowowl02-12-07, 12:42 PM | A swashbuckler/swordsage with shadowblade can add dex, wis, and int to damage with shadowhand weapons in a shadow hand stance. Just to clarify, the Wisdom bonus to damage only occurs if you are performing a Shadow Hand strike. |
| FriendlyFrog02-12-07, 12:48 PM | A swashbuckler/swordsage with shadowblade can add dex, wis, and int to damage with shadowhand weapons in a shadow hand stance. You actually add Strength too. Even if the feat table says you can add your Dex modifier instead of Str modifier to damage with Shadow blade, the actual feat text says you only add it as a bonus. Text trumps table :D |
| Prominence02-12-07, 01:00 PM | Just to clarify, the Wisdom bonus to damage only occurs if you are performing a Shadow Hand strike. The wisdom bonus applies when you perform a strike from a chosen school, not necessarily Shadow Hand. |
| ksbsnowowl02-12-07, 01:44 PM | The wisdom bonus applies when you perform a strike from a chosen school, not necessarily Shadow Hand. You're right, it is from any single chosen school. I just had Shadow Hand on the brain, due to Shadow Blade. |
