Hello, my name is Raze, and I am new to the forums here. Currently, I am in the process of playing a wizard specialist. I selected Abjuration as my chosen school of specialty. I just wanted some advice as to how to build the Abjurer, as what feats to augment my defensive spellcasting/protection/counterspelling potentials. Also, any advice on PRC would be helpful as well. Thanks, Raze.

Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil is not only one of the best arcane PrCs but, it's an Abjuration specialist...Complete Arcane, go look at it!

Complete Arcane also expands the number of useful Abjurations available to you.

What books can you use? Wizard 6/Incantatrix 7/Initiate of the seven fold veil 7 is a common Abjuration specialist build around here. Though it's actually better if you go with a generic Wizard instead of a specialist one, losing 3 schools of magic is not nice. I think that losing two is usually already too much.

EDIT: Incantatrix is from Player's guide to Faerun, Initiate if the seven fold veil is from Complete arcane.

If you want to maximize counterspelling potential, then you have to throw in the Archmage PrC and, IMO, the Elven Spell Lore feat (which, actually, does not require you to be an elf). Another option is the Magelord, using various powerful abjurations as signature spells, but the pre-reqs are a pain in the ass to meet unless you PrC dip.
