Yokinobu 07-31-06, 03:07 PM	I'm making an evoker/Halruaan Elder, and I need ideas for which metamagic feat to choose for adroit casting. For those who don't know, adroit casting simply states that you choose one metamagic feat you know to permanently reduce the levels of a higher spell slot required by one, to a minimum of +1, like the final ability of the incantatrix. I don't know what to choose. I'm thinking quicken, empower, or maximize, but I can't come to a decision for any of those. I need a suggestion. If anyone wants to propose another feat, I simply ask that it be either from the PHB or any Forgotten Realms source, but not Persistant Spell. Thanks in advance!
carnivore 07-31-06, 04:18 PM	if you plan ontaking levels of Incantatrix...then: one of these: Empower Extend if you also take the feat: Arcane Thesis(disintegrate) .....then Empower if not then: Quicken or Twin....but i would probably lean more to Quicken :D
Yokinobu 07-31-06, 05:28 PM	if you plan ontaking levels of Incantatrix...then: I don't. ;) The incantatrix pretty much wipes the floor with the Halruaan Elder, but I'm taking the PrC for the flavor. So, quicken then? Any ideas on staple spells to quicken(considering the reduced level)?
carnivore 08-01-06, 12:34 PM	try these: Teleport Disintegrate Dispel Magic(or Greater Dispel Magic) one can end an encounter right away.....the other to get you out of a bad spot....the third has a variety of uses :D

The PrC requires spell thematics, which allows you to choose one spell of every level to cast at +1 caster level. I know that isn't significant but I'm trying to optimize every advantage I can get, and I need suggestions on what spells to choose, i.e., what spells are most useful(and thus which spells I will be using most), and what spells that +1 caster level has the greatest impact on(dispel magic)? Thanks for any answers.
carnivore 08-02-06, 03:23 PM	try this list(from SRD): 0 lvl....................Message gets the most benifit from increased CL 1st lvl..................Protection from Evil..."..."..." 2nd lvl.................Alter self..."..."..."..mainly from increased duration 3rd lvl..................Dispel Magic...at least till 9th lvl 4th lvl..................Charm Monster..very useful 5th lvl..................teleport.......very useful 6th lvl..................Dispel Magic Greater or Chain Lightning 7th lvl..................Force cage 8th lvl..................Polymorph any object 9th lvl..................Dominate Monster :D
