| SimiD01-26-07, 06:52 PM | I know that some of you have actually played the Subject character. Please share your experiences with regard to what worked and what didn't. Feats I am considering for the lower levels (we will be starting at level 1) include Divine Spell Power, Nymph's Kiss, and Domain and Spontaniety. I will pick up the pre-reqs (Power Attack, etc.) later. For domains, I'm looking at Glory (helps with the Divine Spell Power, and decent spells, too), Transformation (I love these spells!), but also Time (Imp. Init. plus some good spells) and Magic (UMD-like ability and decent spells). Thinking of trying to pick up Competition later. Skills are tight, but I can make it work with a little help from Int. This character will be the group's Divine caster and probably the Tank too. All insight and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

You also need several ranks in Ride and Diplomacy, but that should be covered very easily. Nymph's Kiss is a good feat for this type of character as it is EXTREMELY skill deprived. I've been wanting at least a few ranks in several skills. This build is also, unfortunately, feat deprived until you get started in Fist of Raziel. I'd have a feat layout like this: H Mounted Combat 1 Nymph's Kiss 3 Power Attack 6 Servant of the Heavens 9 Divine Might 12-18 free This lets you maximize your skill output, since skills are always useful. You should have Diplomacy, Know: Religion, and Concentration maxed at all times. Other useful skills will be 5 ranks Bluff, 5 ranks Know: Royalty/Nobility, 1 rank Know: Arcana, and ranks in detection (Spot/Listen). Power Attack/Divine Might is pretty much all the combat ability you'll need (and can afford), so look for feats to boost your spellcasting without needing to invest rounds to do so, such as Persistent Spell, Chain Spell (for buffs), Quicken Spell, and Divine Metamagic. If you're not planning on using RSoP, then I find Domain Spontaneity to be less than ideal. See if your DM will approve swapping the special mount granted by the Prestige Paladin for the Charging Smite feature found in the PHBII. |
