I would like to recreate the trident and net fighter from the movie Gladiator as inspiration. The rules include the following: Level 9 32 Points Buy Single Player vs. Player Mixed/ random arena entry (Eg. Warrior could be facing full-spellcaster) Strictly 3.5 Core Only (this means those without books can refer to SRD - PHBII is not allowed) 3.5 Core Only including skills, spells, feats, races, equipment, classes and PrC's No Monster classes; no templates or LA races allowed May have any alignment You may not have a cohort or followers, but you may have a familiar, Paladin mount, or animal companion Starting gold 27,000gp (no more then 30% spent on a single item) Limited multiclassing (only two core classes and one PrC) Flight is not allowed. We will be using this map as the arena: http://www.colugo.org/jmcmurra/SRD/exodusMapsCrossroadsRiver.html If anyone could contribute some ideas, which would really be appreciated. My opponent will not be decided until all characters have been posted and finalised by the Arena DM. If I win, I continue fighting the next arena match winner. At the beginning of each fight everything is restored (eg. equipment, hp, etc). What should I do to create a flexible gladiator that could compete against any of the core classes? I understand trident and net is far from optimised, however I will enjoy this the most even if I do not win the arena. |
