| Ho-Hunter12-09-05, 10:24 AM | hi! we will start a new campaign and there will be only 2 players. there is no setting yet and it will be phb only. since i havent played in small group like that, i would like to have some tips from you guys. the other player decided to play a straight wizard. my stats are: 16, 16, 13, 13, 11, 10 plus the possibility to adjust 4 points (i.e. the total of points remians). i am considering the following classes: cleric druid paladin rogue i was thinking of the versatileness of all of those classes - that means healing, fighting, skills, casting,... what do you guys think would be best for such a small group. would you go for a allrounder, or a specialist. just post your experiences, ideas,..... thanks, ho-hunter |
| Aramas12-09-05, 10:29 AM | You should be a cleric or a druid and your companion should be a cleric or a druid. If he doesn't want to reroll now, his wizard should bite the dust fairly quickly unless you are starting at a high level. I would pick druid. There just isn't another core class that is stronger or more versatile. |
| Ho-Hunter12-09-05, 10:36 AM | thanks, i dont think he will change. we will start from 1 lvl. how about faets stats, spells,..... thanks!!!!! |
| Aramas12-09-05, 10:46 AM | Well if he won't change... in a two person game he's not gonna last long as a straight wizard. Arcanists are very fragile. Just try to convince him to play a his next character as a cleric or druid. As for your stats... I moved 3 points around. Str 11 Dex 10 Con 14 Int 16 Wis 18 Cha 10 For feats, I guess I'd suggest Spell Focus (Conj) and Augment Summoning at first level. |
| Ho-Hunter12-10-05, 12:30 PM | i thought a cleric would be the better choice, because of his armor-prof., healing-skills,.... you suggest a druid, what seems great to me too, but is he really able to be all my companion needs to be (tank, healer, dmg-dealer,...). could you give some ideas how to adjust to the different situations, may it be spells, forms, weapons, companion, summoned allies,... thanks!!! |
| AramilWindwalker12-10-05, 01:10 PM | with the druid, you are two characters, you the healer/summoner, and your companion, the meleer, for the first couple levels your wolf or whatever will be decent for melee, especially if you buy him armor to up his low ac. |
