Hi,

I am starting a game with a paladin aasimar, and I am really needed of some advices on Feats.

What I want is to make a Paladin not focused on combat, but in helping people in other ways.

If you "just" want to help others instead of fighting, maby you would be better of as a Cleric.

You can still refer to yourself in the game as a Holy Knight and all of that.

Thanks!

Well, unfortunately my DM is not using the Book of Exalted Deeds (he thinks it is really overpowered).

This way my only option of an "exalted" character is the Paladin (wich I really like).

As an Aasimar, I do not receive the human extra feat, so the 1st level went to Power Attack and the 3rd to Celestial Bloodline (RoF).

As he said that undeads are not going to show much on his adventure, I was thinking about some feats to increase his healing capabilities.

I really don't want to make a juggernaught, but smite evil is still a good thing to think of :D

If you're not focused on combat, why'd you take power attack?

Why not an exotic weapon prof. (net) or (bolas)?

or forget combat and take skill focus (diplomacy), then Negoitiator...

then with 5 ranks in Know. (nobility/royalty) you could get another +2

ditto with 5 in bluff, and again for sense motive...

Check out CD, Sacred Healing is an awesome way to use Turn Undead attempts to help a group out. Also the Outsider Wings tree is also very good, helps in a pinch and a winged paladin is just cool. Plus the feats before it help you and your group out.

That should be enough as you're not going to get that many feats.

Thanks!

Well, Power Attack is still Power Attack :D (my group enphasizes too muh on combat, so I need to secure my Pal is going to kick some a** before falling to the ground)

By now I do not have access to CD. But I'll take a look at it too.

Someone knows if there is a feat to increase the number of Remove Diseases?

The only way I can think of a paladin being helpful in a non-offence way is as more of a bodyguard and spellcaster. Three levels of Devoted defender [Sword & Fist] are in order, or alternatively you cold take levels in the DD clone in Shining South. Knight protector could also be helpful.

For spellcasting capabilities that don't involve being a cleric, Divine Crusader (or whatever that domain spellcasting thing from Complete Divine is) could work.

The best noncombat uise for Turn undead I can think of are some of the curative and defensive divine feats.

You can utilize your lay on hands and go Hospitaler (CW). Its not a personal favorite as far as PrCs go, but it works.

I think your main problem here is that paladins *are* fighting machines in the first place. What you try is the same as making a tank out of a rogue, it just does not work out properly.

I can't see how a lawful good cleric is not "exalted". I think he's a lot more exalted than his evil smiting companion.

However if you're set on paladin, i strongly suggest on getting Complete Divine since you can't use the Book of Exalted Deeds. Everything else was already said i think.
