Was thinking of making a build for a new high power mini campaign and the DM said I can use any books to make a level 32 Wizard with any PrC's.

I was kinda thinking wiz 5 , incantatrix 20, archmage 5, fatespinner 2

I do not like the idea of specializing in a school of magic because I do not want to loose access to tons of spells. With Incantatrix you only loose 1 school of magic though so I thought I would ditch Illusion. Any thoughts on what school to ditch? Any thoughts on a different build? Looking for something with tons of power and feats.

So now the stage is set!!! MUNCHKINS ATTACK!!!!!!! :D

Since you don't really want to specialize be a grey elf and take the 1st level substitution. You can't specialize but get an extra spell slot of your highest level for free. :D

cool but sadly he is a human. Dm is giving us out items for the adventure. So far I have gotten a headband of intellect +10 and an epic staff of invocation and bracers AC 12, ring +7 protection, amulet of nat armor +7, Ring of elemental immunity (fire), ring of 3 wishes, robe of arch magi,

But anyways im just hoping the powerbuilders can come up with something truly wicked without sacrificing schools of magic. If I do have to sacrifice one it would be illusion, its pretty worthless except for invisibility and curse of putrid husk IMHO.

HEEEEEELLLPPPPPPPP :D

Looks good. You will be much better caster, and have much better protection if you go this route.

Wizard 5/Initiate of The Sevenfold Veil 7th/Incantatrix 15/Archmage 5th (or Fatespinner 5th)
This has full casting (if you use archmage), alot of potential for epic spell casting, alot of defense, alot of metamagic, and alot of abilities that work well together. This is an overall very powerfull build.

In addition to paradox's start add a single level of dragonslayer and spellsword. No reason not to take them. As a human even Human Paragon could be useful for you (especially with Able Learner).

I'd take all of the above really before Archmage 4-5 and Incantatrix 11+.

EDIT: Oh and the easiest time to take Human Paragon is pre-PrC. You don't have to take 5 levels of wizard.

A fun build, if you have the Libris Mortis is...
Wizard 5th/Incantatrix 10th/Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil 7th/Palemaster 10th

Just about immune to everything all the time, have incredible protection, 31 caster levels, allot of touch abilities, great abilities against undead, and a supreme abjurer, and could wear certain light/med armor without spell failure (though you may as well take Still Spell metamagic feat and have no chance of failure).

Fun stuff ;)

Thanks everyone, the input is majorly appreciated. Im not exactly what the human paragon level will do so i guess i will be digging out the UA soon and looking. I also had thought about initiate of sevenfold veil... hmmm so dang many possibilities lol. Wish me luck :) and if anyone has anymore killer builds for this feel free to add your 2 cents...again thanks!!!!

Who really needs 31 caster levels? I’d throw in some templates. My favorite, if you don’t mind being evil, is Demilich (epic handbook).
Crazy fun.

Every caster! Caster levels help you get by Spell Resistance, and is the power of the spell (damage, vs dispeling...etc). Plus if you dont have the caster levels, you may as well forget about epic spells.

why not 10 levels of rainbow servant + practiced spellcaster?

youll loose 4 CL from the PrC but will regain it with the feat.

in the end , youll add 3 cleric domains and have full access to clerics spell list.
Off course youll use your wisdom for DCs and etc.. but im sure youll find it nice to have some healing, ressurrections, miracle and stuff ;)

Slip in Spellguard of Silverymoon (and maybe Arcane Disciple with a choice domain or two) and your party will absolutely love you.

I advice you and all other epic level mages - take 7 levels of Cosmic Descryer! The ability to get hundreds of bonus to any attack, skill or ability check is very good, but being able to get +100 caster level to any spell you want just Rules. Or if you want to play with summoning you can take more Cosmic Descryer levels, so that each of your summoned creatures have +12 +16 or even +20 HD.

U know, that is a beautiful build. I believed I put it up LONG AGO abt the
IoSFV/FS. Let me up this a bit. Do the Loremaster and take ANY FEAT.
Take some prerequisite entry feats. At later stages, ur INT so HIGH, u
can easily reach LOREMASTER SECRET, ANY FEAT (even with LOW LOREMASTER LEVELS).

Be someone of Netherese Descent (so if u RP, can weave in the storyline)
and have access to LEOF's Arcane Transfiguration.

U can cast spells from Forbidden School (to compensate for Incantatrix) without taking 2 prerequisite feats of Arcane Transfiguration.

To disagree with most of the opinions on this board, let me note that epic feats are much better than most class features. So you want an (almost) epic ready character by 20th for the bonus feats in epic.

That said, i think my preferred build is: wiz5/inc8/fatespinner5/archmage2/inc+12, giving you a total of 20 levels of incantatrix.

Fatespinner is awesome for magekilling. or anything killing. The level 5 ability is a must. Archmage wants mastery of shaping (to abuse with AMF), and probably arcane reach. Hopefully you know how to play incantatrix.

Epic feats: Take epic spellcasting. Abuse the hell out of it. (I'm soon to post a thread about how to abuse epic casting, actually). The trick is to focus on long duration effects (or permanent effects) that you can get really low DCs on.

After that, you want as much multispell and autoquicken as you can get your hands on. 8 spells per round? dont mind if i do.

Summoning is your friend. Swarming down opponents with summon spells is good, and one of the decent epic level caster strats. I'd specialize in conjuration actually; ditch evocation and enchantment probably, and use all the UA substitutions for conjurer; most notably SM spells become 1 action for you.

Know TS. Use TS. TS is your friend.

Traded 1 to 1? Sure. But for a long while picking up even more class features is significantly superior to just picking up three (at best) epic feats over ten levels. Your still getting epic feats at least as fast just from character level. Numerous great epic feats also have skill prereqs putting them into the 27+ game (which can be picked up with certain prestige classes earlier).

You do realize that Autoquicken got nerfed *****slapped beaten abused etc..? It sucks now.

It doesnt suck, you just need to take more of it to autoquicken all your spells.

Ok, 3 more epic feats is three more multispells or autoquickens. Sounds good to me. Note you can take multispell at 21st. so we're talking 21st to epic spellcasting, 24,27,30, + 3 other epic feats from Incantatrix at 25, 28, 31. That looks like 4 autoquickens and 2 multispells. 4th level has some great spells, including Evards (still useful, especially when you've cast multiple of them), and enervation (best attack spell in the game). Whereas you've got a lowly 2 autoquickens and 1 multispell otherwise... i know what i'd pick.

Out of curiosity what exactly are you doing with your 4 little spells around against someone with perhaps Globe of Invulnerability (or an epic variant)?

Lots of little low level spells just don't cut it. Improved Spell Capacity, Improved Metamagic are better investments than Autoquicken.

Wait, you didnt open combat with MDJ? What were you thinking? They shouldnt have *any* spells up when you cast Evards. And yes, MDJ autodispels any epic spell too. Isn't b0rkenness wonderful?

Oh, Rods of Greater Quicken Spell are still a must so you can MDJ and TS in the same round if need be.

Actually I figured that every wizard on the planet's first epic spell was a MDJ Ward. Just because the spell is so broken.

There is no defense against MDJ. Even in Epic. Only abuse of AMF prevents MDJ from wiping you out.

(If you can build an epic spell using the RAW epic casting rules that successfully defends against MDJ, please post it in the appropriate thread)

The oddball defense is that you can reflect an AE spell. An emanation Ward should work as well (wording has issues).

Having problems with MDJ lately? Buy a Ring of Spell Battle to return the MDJ back at your opponent or go for Epic Counterspell feat.
