My group and I recently started a campaign with rolling up stats (4d6, drop lowest), no exchange after stats are rolled up. You could re-roll if your total bonuses added up to 0 or less, which my first set did.

I re-rolled this:

15, 14, 14, 13, 7, 6

I decided to go with a dagger throwing Strongheart halfling rogue. I assigned my stats to STR 5 (7-2), DEX 17 (15+2), CON 13, INT 14, WIS 6, CHA 14. There will be a fair amount of role-playing in this campaign, and I'm going to take lots of interaction skills (Bluff, Disguise, Diplomacy, Sleight of Hand, &c.); hence the high Charisma. I like the low Wisdom from a role-playing perspective, and the Strength is because I didn't want any other stat to be that low.

Anyway, here's my build:

Rog1 H1(Fearless), C1(Point Blank Shot)
Rog2
Ftr1 F1(Weapon Focus[dagger]), C3(Rapid Shot)
Rog3
Ftr2 F2(Far Shot)
Invisible Blade 1 C6(Precise Shot)
IB2
IB3
Master Thrower 1 C9(Two-Weapon Fighting), MT1(Quick Draw), palm shot
IB4
IB5
MT2 C12(Improved Two-Weapon Fighting)
MT3
MT4
MT5 C15(Greater Two-Weapon Fighting), weak spot

Then I'm up in the air. Guild Thief would be nice at higher levels, but I won't have Persuasive to qualify. I realize Fearless isn't the most powerful feat, but it's important for my idea of the character. (In my mind, not like a kender. . . my halfling's reckless, not naively fearless.) I suppose Rogue 4-8 could work, too -- in fact, that's sort of what I have penciled in right now.

If anyone has any tips to give, I'd appreciate them wholeheartedly. Even if I don't end up adopting them for any reason, I appreciate and respect everyone on these boards.

Thanks in advance,

a Rogue/Invisible Blade/Master Thrower/Guild Thief build is one of the most straight-forward "min/max" build there is out there. Go with that.

The Guild Thief only needs Gather Information 3, Hide 8, Intimidate 3 and Move Silently 3. Way too easy. :)

Oh, see, I was working from the "Shadow Thief of Amn is the new Guild Thief" theory. If I can sneak Guild Thief past my DM, that'd be cool.

Thanks for pointing that out,
