So... I'm making a character for my younger brother, who wants to play a barbarian in a local 7th level World's Largest Dungeons campaign, and was hoping for maybe a few tips and tricks from everyone out there. The starting equipment is 10,000 gold.

Jangol Darkwinter
Human Half-Minotaur Barbarian 4 / Fighter 2
Str 14+4 = 18
Dex 14
Con 16+2 = 18
Int 12-2 = 10
Wis 10 + 2 = 12
Cha 8

Feats
Human - Power Attack
1st Level - Powerful Charge
3rd Level - Cleave
Fighter 1 - Greater Powerful Charge
Fighter 2 - Improved Sunder
6th Level - Combat Brute

Equipment
Breastplate, Masterwork (800)
Large +1 Greatsword (2,100)

The Half-Minotaur race is simply splendid. I don't remember what Dragon it was in, though. Since you have Scent, taking Track at some point might not be a bad idea(though I don't know how useful that is in WLD)...

318ish.

And you did the modifiers wrong; he also gains the benefit of increasing a size category. ;-)

Poorly-thought-out templates ftw.

I would go with Shock Trooper (with Knockback) before Combat Brute, but you'll want it all eventually. Rampaging bull rush is ideal later on too.

if you don't take the modifiers for becoming large it is at least nearly balanced......

YEah, the template even explicitly states that you gain the stat bonuses for becoming large, +12 str for +1LA. Whoop de doo....

Yeah... I have a feeling that the GM won't allow it with those extra Stat Bonuses. I could try to sneak it by him though. By the way, the Half-Mino is 319, IIRC.

Where can I find Shock Trooper?

Are there any non-Catfolk versions of "Catfolk Pounce" out there?

Also, any ideas on equipment?

You may want to go with a few levels of Warhulk (miniatures Handbook) but no more than 4, so you reatin the 16 bab at level 20th. Then you may want to go frenzied Berserker or something like that.

By equipment I suggest a Large Scythe or large Great Axe. Both are great. Or if you want to be crazy a Fullblade would also make your day, Forget about armor, either way everything will hit ya and go with a Amulet of Health so you never run out of hit points
