| synchronic01-13-05, 12:38 AM | Hi everyone! The option in our campaign has been given to respec or reroll characters. I'm going insane trying to figure out if there's a better way to do my character, as I have been feeling somewhat insecure with him lately. Current progression: 7 PsiRogue/1 Psion/4 Elocator/2 Illithid Slayer I'll be taking Illithid Slayer up to the top with this build. Obviously I'm sort of a support character with psionic abilities and thiefy abilities. My main beef with this is the split manifester level (7 PsiRogue/11 Psion at 20), but there doesn't seem to be a way I can get straight Psion manifester levels without drastically reducing my fighting and roguey prowess. If anyone has any comments or any ideas as to how to improve it (without totally rerolling, just respeccing) it would be extremely appreciated. All books are available, and there is *some* leeway toward modifying existing spellcasting PrCs to Psionic PrCs. Oh, and if anyone is interested in the abilities of the party, it goes roughly like this: 2 Clerics (one may end up a Mystic Theurge) 1 Paldinish character (Platinum Knight/Vassal of Bahamut) 1 Straight Rogue (DM PC) 1 Mage (Abjurer, initiate of the 7 veils) We're all pretty experienced, and some are better at creating good characters than others. |

I guess I see the point, the Psychic Rogue's manifestation abilities don't match a pure Psion, and +manifestation levels don't look nearly as good stacked on to the PsyRogue. I'd suggest looking at the Shadowmind PrC in Complete Adventurer. Instead of going PsyRogue you can just go multiclass Rogue/Psion, and take this PrC. Then jump into Illithid Slayer/Elocator at your convenience. I'm playing a PsyRogue, and I love it, but it seems a better class if you just stick to it all the way through. That's how I see it. |
