gatsby 09-03-04, 11:20 PM	Hello, I am in the process of making a 20 -22 lev wizzard. a former adventurer who is to repay a debt to his old companions. he is an hafling illusionist, and at one time he was circle leader in thay. and I was wondering if anny one had some input with regards to development in classes and spells. much appreciated! :)
Cold Napalm 09-04-04, 01:37 AM	I assume your taking the red wizard PrC? No idea how a halfling as accepted, but hey, not your DM. That's a shame since incantrix requires an extra school lost which will lead you to lose 4 schools...which is a bit much. Basically incantrix = THE broken wizard class.
gatsby 09-04-04, 04:23 AM	a mistake was made, I am an gnome, illusionist. adn the thayan prc i guess is optional, not neccessary. And Yes the Gm is playfull, so he could accept a powerfuill gnome mage to be working high in thay. you only need the brains and low morallity....

HippieKiller 09-04-04, 05:02 AM	Wizard5/incantatrix10/archmage5 This is a very solid and simple build which is epic ready. If you want ared wizard level just get wiz5/incan10/RedW1/achmage4 (not sure if there are alignment problems or stuff like that). There is another class you might wanna look at which is the dweomerkeeper, that class is so broken it´s not even funny. I dno´t really have a build for that class since I never really looked in to builds. But I´m sure someone could post a solid build.

Lakom 09-04-04, 07:05 AM	After the nerf to incantatrix instant metamagic ability I think that the classic wiz5/Incantatrix10/Acm5 should be changed to wiz5/incantatrix5/spellguard of silvermoon5/archmage5....I think that now 5 levels of spellguard definitely give you more then the last 5 levels of incantatrix...so now the new "cookie cutter" generalist wizard to me would be something like wiz5/incantatrix5/spellguard of silvermoon5/loremaster1/harpermage2/archmage2.
Sisyfos 09-04-04, 09:31 AM	Incantatrix 10 for the epic incantatrix goodness. Wiz6/Inc10/Acm4 Also mystic theurges are very good at that level: Cle3/Wiz3/MT10/Acm4
Cold Napalm 09-04-04, 08:48 PM	Incantrix 10 is worth it for the improved meta magic...I'm sorry but 1 level for empower is really really good. Same thing with maximized for 2 levels. I used quicken a lot at those levels so dropping that to 3 helps a lot as well.

Penguin Master 09-04-04, 09:48 PM	Well if you're going with incantatrix, I'd suggest taking several metamagic feats. Chain, maximize, quicken, repeat or twin are all good.

Progression 1 wiz 2 wiz 3 wiz 4 wiz 5 wiz 6 incantatrix 7 incantatrix 8 deep diviner 9 incantatrix 10 deep diviner 11 incantatrix 12 deep diviner 13 incantatrix 14 deep diviner 15 incantatrix 16 deep diviner 17 incantatrix 18 deep diviner 19 incantatrix 20 incantatrix (not set in stone switch them up however you please) Feats: (not including racial bonuses) 1 Iron Will 1 Scribe Scroll 3 Spell Focus (Divination) 5 Metanode Spell 6 Chain Spell 6 Silent Spell 9 Maximize Spell 12 Empower Spell 13 Twin Spell (or Repeat Spell) 15 (Whatever you want) 18 (Whatever you want) 20 Quicken Spell The great part about this build is it's plethora of free metamagic levels (considering you have a level 3 node which isn't too hard to get) combined with a rod of metamagic you can get 3 or 4 metamagic feats on your higher level spells without too much cost.
